This is the first 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City after its merger with Binh Duong and Ba Ria-Vung Tau, with the largest number of candidates nationwide.

The 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City will take place over two days (June 1-2) at 242 examination centers, including 226 regular centers and 16 specialized centers, with a total of 6,443 examination rooms. The city's education sector has mobilized more than 17,700 teachers, staff, and officials to participate in invigilation and examination support.
According to statistics from 242 examination centers after yesterday's registration day (May 31st), there were 15 cases of candidates at 13 examination centers with special circumstances requiring assistance from the city-level examination steering committee and the examination centers.

According to Nguyen Van Hieu, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, the planning of examination sites is being carried out in a way that provides maximum convenience for candidates, especially in areas far from the city center, border areas, and areas with specific characteristics.
Ho Chi Minh City remains committed to reforming exam question design. This includes requiring students to think critically, apply learned knowledge to solve practical problems, and possess the ability to evaluate and critically analyze.
This year, the method of transporting exam papers and answer sheets for the 10th grade entrance exam has been changed to accommodate the largest scale of organization ever. Exam papers were delivered to the examination centers on May 31st, the day before the exam, instead of being delivered early in the morning for each exam session as before. Answer sheets will also be collected on the last exam session of the exam, instead of after each exam day.

Before the candidates officially began the first exam of the 10th grade entrance exam, the Director of the City Department of Education and Training visited the exam site at Doan Thi Diem Secondary School (Nhieu Loc Ward) to encourage and advise the candidates to be confident and calm while taking the exam to achieve the best results.
In particular, the Director of the Department of Education and Training visited the separate examination room of a candidate undergoing tuberculosis treatment to encourage and reassure the candidate to feel at ease while taking the exam, with the special support of the examination center and invigilators to ensure the candidate is as comfortable as possible.

The structure of the 10th grade Literature exam consists of two parts:
Part 1 (5 points): Reading comprehension of literary texts and writing a paragraph

Question 2 (2 points): Write a paragraph
Part 2 (5 points): Reading comprehension of argumentative or informational texts and writing a social commentary essay.
