Towards automation and operational optimization

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is being identified by Vietnam as one of the strategic technologies. In 2021, the Prime Minister issued the National Strategy on AI Research, Development and Application to 2030. Following 2024, the Ministry of Information and Communications deployed the 2024 Action Plan, implementing the AI Application Development Strategy, also known as the Applied AI Strategy.

In Ho Chi Minh City, AI development is focusing on building and sharing data. Mr. Vo Minh Thanh, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology, said: “Developing data here is not only to serve the city's administration but also to share with organizations and businesses for exploitation. This is the effort and goal that the city is aiming for.”

Another focus of special interest to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology is supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the process of digital transformation and AI application. Mr. Thanh said that many small businesses are currently facing difficulties in determining where to start, how to deploy, and financial limitations.

“We hope that associations like VINASA and the large business community will join hands to create a supportive environment where large businesses can connect, guide and accompany SMEs to effectively apply AI to production and business activities,” Mr. Thanh emphasized.

In Vietnam, more and more businesses are investing in AI Agents (virtual assistants) to improve management efficiency and customer care. Some current AI application models have the ability to replace up to 70% of operational personnel, especially in departments such as customer care, technical support and internal administration.

Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, Chairman of VINASA, Head of the event organizing committee shared: “According to Gartner's report, 80% of large enterprises worldwide have integrated AI into their digital transformation strategy. Of which, AI Agents help increase productivity by 30% and reduce operating costs by 15 - 20%. McKinsey predicts that this technology can contribute 4,400 billion USD to global productivity growth thanks to applications in automation, predictive analytics and decision support. According to ByteBridge, businesses using AI Agents save an average of 80,000 USD per month thanks to reduced errors and improved performance”.

Mr. Khoa further emphasized: “Never before have science, technology and digital transformation been placed at the center of the national development strategy as they are today. Vietnamese digital technology enterprises are making efforts to research, develop and master strategic technologies such as AI to better serve customers and enhance competitiveness.”

AI Agents bring operational breakthroughs to Vietnamese businesses

In recent years, artificial intelligence (AI), especially virtual assistants (AI Agents), have been strongly applied in many fields in Vietnam such as finance, banking, insurance, F&B and e-commerce. Not only playing a supporting role, AI Agents have also proven to be effective in increasing revenue, saving costs and optimizing resources.

In the financial industry, a typical example is MBS Securities Company with Dolphin assistant, an AI Agent that has helped the business increase the number of customers by 1.4 times, double the outstanding margin, while revenue and profit both grew by 30%. This is proof that virtual assistants not only support management but also directly contribute to business growth.

Even in the F&B industry, AI has made a clear change. Ngoc Hai Roasted Pork Company has increased the number of successful orders from 150 to 300 orders/day, while reducing 2/3 of its sales operations staff (from 6 to 2) thanks to the application of AI in multi-channel order consulting and processing.

According to Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Le, Director of MISA Medium Enterprise Business Division, businesses in Vietnam are increasingly investing in AI not only to grow but also to optimize operating costs. Ms. Le said: “Virtual assistants also help save a significant amount of time and resources. For example, MISA AVA supports accountants to shorten operating time by 5 times, automating 100% of operations such as getting invoices, adding goods, and creating accounting documents.”

In addition, in the technology field, the Lunabase.ai platform is developed with the ability to automate up to 80 - 95% of the software development cycle, from requirements gathering to product deployment, opening up a new direction for businesses in developing end-to-end AI technology.

The above examples show that virtual assistant applications and AI solutions are no longer an option but are becoming an inevitable trend to help Vietnamese businesses make a breakthrough in operational efficiency and sustainable growth.

Taking place from June 3-4, 2025 in Ho Chi Minh City, the Biztech 2025 event organized by VINASA aims to become a bridge to share knowledge, experience and digital transformation solutions for the business community. The program includes 7 specialized seminars, exhibitions of advanced technologies in the field of AI Agents, and business connection activities, to support businesses in optimizing operational processes and promoting revenue growth.
