The competition is a platform for students, technology companies, and startups nationwide, focusing on priority areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), big data, the Internet of Things (IoT), cloud computing, microchip technology, renewable energy, biotechnology, circular economy , and climate change adaptation.
Associate Professor, Dr. Le Quoc Cuong – Deputy Head of the Management Board of Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park, said that the Smart City 2025 competition not only seeks creative ideas but also serves as a place to “nurture the future, create an innovation ecosystem with a distinctly Vietnamese character and international stature.”
Representatives performed the ceremony to announce the Smart City 2025 Competition - an initiative to build smart cities.
This year's competition consists of two categories: the Project – Startup category and the Student category. In the Project category, startup teams will receive in-depth training from experts, covering everything from product development and business model refinement to presentation skills; projects will be evaluated based on five criteria: level of technology application, commercialization potential, creativity, team capabilities, and social impact.
Meanwhile, the Student section is a creative playground featuring drone soccer, helping students access technology, hone STEM skills, and nurture a passion for scientific research.
Teams can register to participate via the website https://shtpic.org/vi/cuoc-thi-smart-city-2025. The total prize money is up to 120 million VND, with a first prize of 50 million VND. The Organizing Committee will select the 10 best projects to continue incubation at the Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Business Incubator.
