Three science and technology enterprises were honored at TECHFEST 2025.

DNVN - Three outstanding representatives from the Vietnam Association of Science and Technology Enterprises (VST) were honored at the Workshop on Local Socio-Economic Development Policies through Innovative Startup Activities, held on the morning of December 12th, where science and technology entrepreneurs and innovative startup entrepreneurs are considered the leaders guiding Vietnam out of the middle-income trap.

A complete innovation ecosystem needs to be built.

Speaking at the Workshop on Local Socio -Economic Development Policies through Innovative Startup Activities held on the morning of December 12th, Mr. Pham Hong Quat, Director of the Department of Startups and Technology Enterprises, Ministry of Science and Technology, stated that technology-based innovation is the key path to sustainable development for Vietnam. He emphasized that Vietnam needs to build a complete innovation ecosystem with pioneering enterprises, small and medium-sized enterprises, and young entrepreneurs…

According to Mr. Quat, Vietnam only has about 10 years left to take advantage of the "window of opportunity" before the population ages, and if we don't act decisively, it will be very difficult to escape the middle-income trap. In this context, expectations are placed on the shoulders of the current generation of young leaders and entrepreneurs.

Legally, a series of important laws such as the amended Intellectual Property Law, the Technology Transfer Law, etc., paving the way for innovation, have been passed. "Now, the remaining task rests with us, from each locality, each enterprise, and each citizen," Mr. Quat said.

The Director of the Department of Startups and Technology Enterprises hopes to discover groundbreaking initiatives, models, and individuals, from officials and experts to entrepreneurs, to promote the economic development of localities. "If all 34 provinces and cities achieve an additional 3% GDP growth, the whole country will reach over 30%, bringing per capita income to a high income level," Mr. Quat stated.

In his speech, Mr. Quat also stated that this year marks the first time the Ministry of Science and Technology has organized a ceremony to honor exemplary figures in innovative entrepreneurship: science and technology entrepreneurs, startup entrepreneurs, managers, experts, advisors, as well as outstanding products, projects, and solutions that have made a significant impact at the local level. The goal is to spread success stories, in which science and technology entrepreneurs are seen as exemplary leaders.

At the awards ceremony, three outstanding science and technology entrepreneurs from VST-affiliated science and technology enterprises were recognized. These individuals represent the intellect and capabilities of Vietnam's science and technology business community, including Mr. Le Huu Tinh - Representative of Dac Loc Aquatic Products Company; Mr. Nguyen Dang Phong - Representative of Daphovina Company; and Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong Lien - Representative of Sao Thai Duong Joint Stock Company.

This recognition affirms the position of VST businesses in applying technology to production and business, contributing to the realization of the goal of knowledge-based economic growth instead of relying solely on resources and cheap labor.

Besides the awards ceremony, VST's mark at TECHFEST 2025 was also strongly showcased through its product display area with 8 booths from 5 member companies: Sao Thai Duong, Busadco, Minh Long, TDV, and Ngan Ha.
