Launching emulation movements among union members, workers, and trade union levels to celebrate important events in 2026.

(PLVN) - The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has just launched a widespread emulation movement among union members, workers, and trade union levels. The movement aims to inspire innovation, promote digital transformation, improve productivity and efficiency, achieve tangible results to celebrate historical events, and contribute to the successful implementation of socio-economic development tasks in 2026.

2026 is a particularly important year, marking the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the 14th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and the 14th National Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union, for the 2026-2031 term; commemorating the 80th anniversary of the first general election to elect the Vietnamese National Assembly and the organization of elections for the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term. It also marks the beginning of the socio-economic development plan for the 2026-2031 period.

In order to practically achieve accomplishments to celebrate the above events, the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor launched an emulation movement among union members, workers, and trade union levels with the goal of motivating and inspiring patriotism, responsibility, and creativity; and improving labor productivity and work efficiency.

The emulation movements simultaneously contribute to cultivating political acumen, qualifications, skills, and industrial work ethic among union members and workers; linking emulation with the task of caring for and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of workers.

The theme for the 2026 emulation campaign has been identified as follows:   "Union members and workers are competing in innovation, promoting digital transformation, and improving productivity and efficiency; bringing the resolutions of the Party, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and the Vietnam Trade Union into life."

The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor proposes that trade unions at all levels intensify the dissemination of Ho Chi Minh's ideology on patriotic emulation; spread the spirit of self-reliance and self-improvement; and promote the pioneering role of the working class in digital transformation and the application of science and technology.

Units have effectively implemented movements launched by the Prime Minister, especially the "Nationwide emulation in innovation and digital transformation" movement and the "For the poor, leaving no one behind" movement.

In addition, traditional movements such as "Excellent Workers, Creative Workers," "Good at National Affairs, Competent at Home Affairs," and "Green, Clean, Beautiful, Ensuring Occupational Safety and Health" continue to be innovated in terms of content and methods.

The emulation movement also calls on union members and workers to study and improve their skills, develop initiatives and technical improvements, build a team of "Digital Workers"; actively register and complete emulation projects and products; and exercise their rights and responsibilities as citizens in the election process.

For trade union officials, the requirements include innovating thinking and working methods; being closely involved with the grassroots; strongly applying information technology; and building a digital ecosystem to serve union members.
