The People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has a draft decision to promulgate a price frame for renting social housing, housing for the people's armed forces invested in construction according to the project; and rental prices for workers' accommodation in industrial parks in the area.
For social housing, the lowest rental price is 96,000 VND/m2/month, including 5% value added tax (VAT). This price applies to buildings under 5 floors, without basement.
The highest rental price is 235,000 VND/m2/month for apartments from 45 to 50 floors, including 3 basements.

For workers' accommodation in industrial zones, the lowest rental price is 87,000 VND/m2/month for buildings under 5 floors, without basements. The highest rental price is 143,000 VND/m2/month for buildings 15-20 floors, with 3 basements.
The proposed rental price for houses invested in by individuals to build or renovate and repair houses for beneficiaries of social housing support policies to rent in Ho Chi Minh City is from VND 66,000/m2/month to VND 121,000/m2/month (including 5% value added tax).
The HCMC People's Committee assigned the Department of Construction to hire a consulting unit to conduct a survey and develop a housing rental price framework to ensure it is suitable for local conditions. The Department of Finance was assigned to allocate capital to conduct a survey and develop a rental price framework.
Ho Chi Minh City has set a target of 69,700 - 93,000 social housing units by 2030. From 2021 to present, the city has put into use 6 projects with a scale of 2,700 units and is under construction of 4 projects with 3,000 units.
