Respect for workers

On this occasion, Party and State leaders visited, presented gifts to, and encouraged workers and laborers in many localities across the country.

In Thanh Hoa, a delegation of Party and State leaders, led by Comrade Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Member of the Political Bureau, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, and Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, visited Sakurai Co., Ltd. in Quang Phu ward to present gifts to policy beneficiary families, poor people, and workers in difficult circumstances.

Many gifts were personally handed over to poor workers and those in difficult circumstances by the Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and provincial leaders.

The gifts may not be of great material value compared to the immense needs of poor and struggling workers. But through these gifts, a powerful message is conveyed: For the country to develop, we must first care for and responsibly look after the workers. Celebrating International Labor Day cannot be just empty rhetoric; above all, it must be demonstrated through practical actions. Workers must see this, have faith in it, and nurture their desire to love their work and contribute. When the policies and care of the Party and State truly touch people, that faith can transform into a driving force for sustainable development. The goals and figures we set can only be realized with the dedication of the workers.

Conversely, we talk a lot about growth. But if the growth figures are not accompanied by a significant improvement in the lives of workers, then development is still incomplete. Because ultimately, all economic achievements must return to serve people – that is both the goal and the essence of sustainable development. Therefore, the visits, encouragement, and gifts from Party and State leaders on this occasion are both to share and to listen to and better understand the hardships of workers, thereby enabling longer-term planning to develop labor resources in the long term with the synchronized participation of the entire system, from the State and trade unions to businesses and society as a whole.

When workers have better living conditions, are respected, and are assured of their security, they will not only work for survival, but also with confidence and pride. As General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized during his visit to encourage workers in Ho Chi Minh City on International Labor Day this year: For businesses to develop sustainably, they must care for their employees; they must ensure wages, benefits, working conditions, and occupational safety; they must listen to initiatives, respect human dignity, and create opportunities for learning and skill development for workers. When workers feel secure, committed, and proud of their workplace, businesses will also be stronger, more stable, and more sustainable in the long term.
