The National Assembly distributed 100 Tet (Lunar New Year) gifts to workers.

On the afternoon of February 5th, amidst preparations for the Lunar New Year 2026 (Year of the Horse), a delegation from the National Assembly, led by Mr. Hoang Thanh Tung, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Member of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, and Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Law and Justice , visited and presented gifts to trade union members and workers in Can Tho City.
The delegation included Mr. Lam Van Man, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Member of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, Chairman of the National Assembly's Ethnic Council, along with representatives of local leaders.
At the meeting, Mr. Hoang Thanh Tung provided an overview of the country's socio-economic landscape. In 2025, Vietnam is expected to continue achieving impressive growth of over 8%, with import and export turnover reaching a record high of 930 billion USD. Notably, social welfare policies are being implemented decisively with the spirit of "leaving no one behind." A prime example is the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated housing, which has mobilized over 50,000 billion VND, completing 334,000 houses; along with the construction of over 102,000 social housing units, exceeding the set target.

On this occasion, the delegation presented 100 Tet gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances. Each gift included 1 million VND in cash and a gift worth 300,000 VND. These gifts are expected to provide timely encouragement to union members and workers before the New Year.
Expressing her delight at receiving gifts from the delegation, Ms. Duong Thi Kim Ngan, a local worker, shared: "The care and attention during this Tet holiday is a great source of encouragement that helps us workers overcome difficulties. We will try our best to do our jobs well and hope that in 2026, the Trade Union will continue to accompany and support us so that workers can feel secure in their work and have stable lives."
Warmth and affection in spring

On February 5th, the Quang Tri Provincial Association for the Support of Poor Patients, in coordination with various organizations, sponsors, and benevolent individuals, distributed gifts to support poor patients, war veterans, orphans, and those in difficult circumstances in the province on the occasion of the Lunar New Year (Year of the Horse 2026).
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong, President of the Association for the Support of Poor Patients in Quang Tri Province, shared: "The traditional Lunar New Year is approaching. To contribute to sharing difficulties and bringing warmth to vulnerable groups in society, especially poor patients, the Association has actively called upon and connected with organizations and sponsors to join hands in supporting those less fortunate to have a warmer and more joyful Tet holiday."

This time, the program distributed over 180 million VND to help poor patients and people in difficult circumstances, including 50 patients undergoing hemodialysis in the province, disadvantaged veterans of the Truong Sa Islands, 20 poor and near-poor households affected by floods and storms, child cancer patients, and 23 orphaned children in difficult circumstances. Notably, the program also provided 50 million VND to support free meals for poor patients receiving treatment at hospitals in the province and Hue Central Hospital.

These heartfelt gifts will contribute to supporting, sharing love, and motivating vulnerable groups to overcome their circumstances and enjoy a joyful and warm Lunar New Year celebration. This also helps spread the beautiful humanitarian values of the nation, and the compassionate actions of organizations and communities working together to ensure that "no one is left behind."
As part of the program, leaders of the Quang Tri Provincial Association for the Support of Poor Patients and benefactors also directly visited, encouraged, and inquired about the health and living conditions of hemodialysis patients in rented accommodations near the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Hospital in Dong Hoi. Sharing in the difficulties and hardships of the patients and their families, the Association leaders and benefactors directly presented practical and meaningful gifts to the patients.

Over the past period, the officials, members, and organizations of the Quang Tri Provincial Association for the Support of Poor Patients have consistently and persistently strived to care for patients in difficult circumstances and those less fortunate. The Association hopes to continue receiving attention and support from all levels, sectors, organizations, units, and compassionate individuals to help more people in difficult situations and poor patients, so that love can be multiplied and the spirit of compassion and the beautiful humanistic values of the nation can be spread more strongly in the community.
