Implementing the National Action Program for the Protection and Promotion of the Values ​​of the "Via Ba Chua Xu Festival at Sam Mountain"

(CT) - The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has just issued a document to the People's Committee of An Giang province regarding the implementation of the National Action Program for the protection and promotion of the intangible cultural heritage "The Via Ba Chua Xu Festival at Sam Mountain".

Accordingly, in order to fulfill the nation's commitment to UNESCO in the nomination dossier for inclusion in the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has issued the National Action Program for the Protection and Promotion of the Value of the Intangible Cultural Heritage "The Via Ba Chua Xu Festival at Sam Mountain". The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism requests the People's Committee of An Giang province to direct the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and relevant agencies, organizations and individuals to seriously implement the Action Program to protect and promote the value of this Intangible Cultural Heritage in the locality. At the same time, assign specialized agencies to concretize the contents of the Action Program into a Project for the Management, Protection and Promotion of the Value of the Intangible Cultural Heritage "The Via Ba Chua Xu Festival at Sam Mountain" according to regulations, to organize its implementation in the province.

"The Festival of the Goddess of Sam Mountain" is a representative Intangible Cultural Heritage of humanity.

Previously, in December 2024, at the 19th session of the Intergovernmental Committee of the 2003 Convention on the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO held in the Republic of Paraguay, Vietnam's "Ba Chua Xu Nui Sam Festival" was officially inscribed by UNESCO on the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
