Implementing the National Action Program to protect and promote the value of "Ba Chua Xu Festival of Sam Mountain"

Accordingly, in order to fulfill the country's commitment to UNESCO in the nomination dossier for inclusion in the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has issued a National Action Program to protect and promote the value of the Intangible Cultural Heritage "Via Ba Chua Xu Festival of Sam Mountain". The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism requested the People's Committee of An Giang province to direct the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and relevant agencies, organizations and individuals to seriously implement the Action Program to protect and promote the value of this Intangible Cultural Heritage in the locality. At the same time, assign specialized agencies to concretize the contents of the Action Program into a Project on Management, Protection and Promotion of the Value of the Intangible Cultural Heritage "Via Ba Chua Xu Festival of Sam Mountain" according to regulations, to organize and implement in the province.

"The Festival of Lady Chua Xu of Sam Mountain" is a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity.

Previously, in December 2024, at the 19th Session of the Intergovernmental Committee of the 2003 UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage held in the Republic of Paraguay, Vietnam's "Via Ba Chua Xu Nui Sam Festival" was officially inscribed by UNESCO on the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
