Currently, building material stores offer a full range of decorative tiles from domestic brands such as Viglacera and Dong Tam, along with many imported products, featuring attractive designs, high quality, and competitive prices. Ms. Nguyen Thi Dua, Sales Manager at Nha Dep Building Materials and Interior Decoration Store on Nguyen Van Cu Street, An Binh Ward, said: “The end of the year is when many construction projects enter the final stages to be completed in time for the Lunar New Year, so the demand for finishing materials increases sharply. The store currently offers a wide variety of floor tiles and wall tiles, with prices ranging from 150,000 VND to around 650,000 VND/m², depending on size and brand.”
According to Ms. Dua, although the prices of many building materials tend to increase towards the end of the year, the price of decorative tiles remains relatively stable due to competition among manufacturers. Most customers prioritize quality, functionality, and aesthetics when choosing decorative tiles. Among them, large-format ceramic tiles ranging from 80x80cm to 1.2x2.4m, with their high durability, strength, water resistance, and stain resistance, featuring stone patterns, gray or dark brown tones, flat surfaces, and seamless designs, are particularly popular, creating a spacious, luxurious, and modern feel. In addition, wood-look wall tiles and patterned ceramic tiles, commonly sized at 30x30cm and priced at around 250,000 VND per piece, are also popular choices for accent decoration in living rooms, kitchens, restaurants, or cafes. Their beautiful designs and eye-catching patterns allow homeowners to easily create their own unique living spaces.
Along with decorative tiles, sanitary ware is also a fairly popular product group during the year-end period. Currently, building material stores offer a full range of sanitary ware designed as complete sets, with prices commonly ranging from 3 million VND to around 15 million VND per set, depending on the material and brand. In addition, electrical and plumbing equipment, soundproofing or heat insulation materials, and shower sets... for repair and renovation needs are also sought after by many customers.
To meet the demand for home beautification for Tet (Lunar New Year), building material stores are currently selling a wide variety of paints from brands such as Expo, Jotun, and Cova… with features like waterproofing, anti-mold, and anti-dust properties, suitable for both new and old buildings needing renovation. The price of decorative paints ranges from around 1 million VND per 5-liter container, depending on the brand. Depending on their needs and budget, customers can choose the right paint for the interior and exterior decoration of their homes. Besides well-known brands like Nippon and Dulux, the market also offers many paint lines produced by Vietnamese companies, such as BHP paint, which is popular among customers due to its use of 100% acrylic resin, creating a super-glossy paint film, high coverage, and effective dust, mold, and waterproofing properties. Priced at 650,000 VND per 5-liter container, it's affordable for many customers.
Mr. Tran Duc Quoc, residing in Tan An ward, shared: “My house has been in use for over 10 years, and the paint is old, so I decided to repaint it at the end of this year to welcome Tet. Besides choosing colors, I prioritized a type of paint with good waterproofing capabilities to protect the house from the effects of sun and rain.” According to Mr. Quoc, the market currently offers many high-quality paint lines with a wide range of colors, making it easy for homeowners to mix and match colors, refreshing each living space according to their preferences, which is both convenient and enhances the aesthetics of the house.
With abundant supply, diverse designs, and a wide range of price options, the building materials market at the end of the year is effectively meeting the needs of many households for repairing, renovating, and beautifying their homes in preparation for Tet (Lunar New Year).
