After more than 20 years of bringing this tree species from Dak Lak province to Can Tho city for propagation and planting, the city now has a fairly large population of cypress trees.
Here are some images captured by reporters from Can Tho Newspaper and Radio & Television.

Glyptostrobus pensilis, also known as water pine, is a type of upright woody tree. Its wood is fragrant, has a fine grain, beautiful patterns, and is resistant to termites, making it highly valuable.

Mr. Huynh Cong Thong in Tan Loc islet (Tan Loc ward, Can Tho city) propagated the cypress tree by grafting shoots onto a fig tree.

Among the cluster of cypress trees planted in Mr. Huynh Cong Thong's garden, some are over 20 years old.

Over the years, Mr. Huynh Cong Thong has propagated thousands of cypress trees and transferred them to households in Tan Loc and several other communes in the city to plant, in order to preserve and develop this type of tree.

The cypress tree is planted in the garden of a household in Trung Hung commune, Can Tho city.
