Exhibition of science and technology books, "Discovering knowledge - creating the future"

With the theme "Discovering knowledge, creating the future", the series of events of this year's Science and Technology Book Exhibition are organized to honor the value of books and science and technology, promote reading culture, connect the knowledge community, promote the spirit of innovation, develop technology and digital transformation, towards the goal of rapid and sustainable development of the country.

With the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Science and Technology , along with more than 200 delegates including managers, scientists, publishers, technology experts, lecturers, students, young research groups and a large public who love knowledge and digital transformation, the opening ceremony took place on the morning of May 15 on the 1st floor, No. 24 Ly Thuong Kiet, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi.

Former Minister of Science and Technology, Chairman of Vietnam Automation Association, Nguyen Quan and representatives of leaders of units of the Ministry of Science and Technology visited the exhibition booths.

The exhibition introduces and displays hundreds of books in the fields of science and technology. These books not only reflect the scientific and technological achievements of Vietnam and the world but also inspire innovation in the future.

Here, there are two exhibition areas. The indoor area has many thematic sub-areas such as: Scientific imprints in the journey of national unification (1945-1975); Vietnam's scientific achievements 50 years after unification (1975-2025); Digital transformation - Journey to reach Vietnamese intelligence (Books, digital databases, technology solutions in the 4.0 Industrial Revolution and AI); Future science - Connecting the young generation (Technology experience space, popular science books, AD interaction). The outdoor book exhibition area also attracts the attention of readers with 15-20 booths of units, publishers, universities, etc.

Mr. Tran Dac Hien, Director of the Department of Information and Statistics emphasized at the opening ceremony: “Science and technology books, whether in traditional or electronic form, are still practical and important tools for sharing and disseminating scientific knowledge. The exhibition honors the role of science books, arouses the passion for discovery and is a practical activity to promote reading culture in the community, especially among young people, connecting the science and technology community with education and training…”.

Science, technology and innovation are the main driving forces to promote global socio-economic development. “To successfully implement digital transformation, in addition to technological infrastructure and financial resources, the most important thing is human resources and creative knowledge that can adapt to change the fastest. And to have such human resources, books and knowledge are the irreplaceable foundation,” Mr. Tran Dac Hien added.

The 2025 Science and Technology Book Exhibition is not only a place to introduce books but also a space for interaction, experiencing new technology, a forum for academic exchange, knowledge sharing, and inspiration for the young generation.

Also this morning, the contest “Vietnamese Youth with Science and Technology Knowledge” was held right after the opening ceremony. This is a creative playground for student clubs in Hanoi, encouraging sharing inspirational stories about Vietnamese scientists or introducing favorite science books. The total prize value is up to 10 million VND along with a Certificate from the Department of Information and Statistics, Ministry of Science and Technology.

According to the Department of Information and Statistics, the series of events to celebrate Vietnam Science and Technology Day aims to raise awareness of the whole society about the key role of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation in socio-economic development, affirming that science and technology books and the knowledge ecosystem are important foundations for the national digital transformation process, building a learning society and creating digital citizens.

According to the Organizing Committee, from today until May 17, the public coming to this Book Week can also participate in activities such as: giving away books from the Science and Technology Publishing House, registering for a free library reader card and instructions on exploiting the database...
