Speaking at the conference, Mr. Vu The Binh, Chairman of the Vietnam Tourism Association, said: With Resolution No. 226/NQ-CP dated August 5, 2025, the Government has assigned the tourism industry the task of striving to reach 25 million international visitors and 150 million domestic visitors in 2025. This is a very heavy task, but it also opens up prospects for the tourism industry, requiring the entire tourism industry to quickly gather forces, develop practical and effective plans, and organize strong and drastic implementation to successfully implement.
According to Mr. Vu The Binh, the merger has changed the country from 63 provinces and cities to 34 provinces and cities, and the local tourism associations have merged and undergone many changes. Although in some provinces, the reorganization of tourism associations has not been completed, most provinces and cities have not yet issued documents recognizing or giving specific instructions on the organization of new tourism associations, in the current context, tourism associations still need to immediately implement a series of tasks.

“The Vietnam Tourism Association invites all provincial and municipal tourism associations to attend today's meeting to discuss and agree on action plans, demonstrating determination to implement the Government's Resolution, contributing to increasing the tourism industry's contribution to the national economy and elevating Vietnam's tourism,” the Chairman of the Vietnam Tourism Association emphasized.

To promote tourism activities towards green, sustainable growth and increasing professionalism, the conference also introduced the VITA GREEN green tourism label recognition program of the Vietnam Green Tourism Association, and tourism development consulting and support activities of the Institute of Tourism Economics under the Vietnam Tourism Association.
At the conference, many delegates shared, discussed, proposed ideas and contributed to develop Vietnam tourism quickly and strongly, striving to realize the goal of welcoming 25 million international visitors by 2025.

To attract international visitors, Mr. Phung Quang Thang, Chairman of the Vietnam Green Tourism Association, said that the important solution is that travel businesses, accommodation services, and destinations need to change their awareness, implement actions to transform green tourism, spread the green tourism movement, and raise the value of Vietnam's VITA GREEN Green Tourism label to become an international trading brand. These activities aim to affirm the prestige and position of Vietnam's green tourism in the international arena, contributing to building the image of Vietnam as a sustainable, responsible, and environmentally friendly destination; at the same time, affirming the pioneering role of tourism businesses in promoting the green tourism trend in the region and globally.
Mr. Cao Tri Dung, Chairman of the Vietnam Tourism Association, proposed that it is necessary to deploy a series of tourism promotion and stimulus activities at the national and local scale to respond to Resolution 226/NQ-CP; build events to promote Vietnamese tourism in target markets, and call on localities that are gateways to welcome international visitors to proactively develop breakthrough products to introduce to markets with the potential for rapid growth in the short term.

Concluding the conference, Chairman of the Vietnam Tourism Association Vu The Binh suggested that localities should quickly complete the association's organization, rearrange affiliated units, and implement vertical linkages with specialized associations. Tourism businesses and workers need to increase innovation, creativity, build new products, and implement high-tech activities to be awarded the VITA AWARDS title and other awards of the Vietnam Tourism Association.
“With the increasingly important role and position of the tourism industry, I call on member businesses, workers in the tourism industry and tourism enthusiasts to cooperate closely, work creatively, and actively contribute to the development of the industry and the country, worthy of the expectations of the Party and the Government that tourism is truly a spearhead economic sector of Vietnam,” Mr. Vu The Binh emphasized.
