Recreating Hanoi's culture, splendor, bravery and dynamism through art

A heroic, heroic, revolutionary Hanoi is recreated on stage.

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, on the evening of August 31, at the National Exhibition Center (Dong Anh Commune, Hanoi), the Hanoi Party Committee and People's Committee organized a special art program with the theme "Hanoi - Forever shining Vietnamese aspiration".

The art program “Hanoi – Forever shining Vietnamese aspiration” is a cultural and artistic highlight within the framework of the Socio -Economic Achievements Exhibition and a series of events celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day September 2, contributing to honoring the outstanding achievements that the country and the capital Hanoi have achieved over the past 80 years.

The program opened with the sound of festival drums and images evoking the heroic historical atmosphere of Thang Long-Hanoi, from when King Ly Thai To established the capital in Thang Long, to when King Le Thai To liberated Dong Quan citadel... and then Hanoi entered the modern era.

The art program consists of 3 chapters.

Chapter one, titled “Hanoi Day, Month, Year”, depicts the historic moment of September 2, 1945 and the role of the capital Hanoi in the struggle for independence and national unification, a heroic page of history and also filled with love and heart of the people of Hanoi.

Chapter two "Hanoi in whose eyes" introduces the outstanding achievements in socio-economic, cultural- educational -scientific development of the capital Hanoi in 80 years of accompanying the nation.

Chapter three, “Vietnam in the new day”, recreates the image of a dynamic, integrated, modern capital, demonstrating the determination to build a “Cultured-Civilized-Modern” Hanoi, contributing to a prosperous and happy Vietnam.

The songs revive historical moments of the capital and the country.

The audience experienced a range of emotions. Among them, there were emotional moments when the honor guard brought the national flag onto the stage, the song Tien Quan Ca - the national anthem of Vietnam - was played and everyone stood up to salute the flag. That moment became even more emotional as the 80th anniversary of National Day was getting closer.

What is special is that historical stories, stories of Hanoi in war, in peace, and the aspirations of the Capital to rise are expressed interspersed with heroic songs such as Nineteen August (Xuan Oanh), Hanoi, Faith and Hope (Phan Nhan)... with profound songs imbued with the gallant and heroic character of Hanoi.

The audience immersed themselves in songs such as: Hanoi People (Nguyen Dinh Thi), Is it you, Hanoi autumn (Tran Quang Loc), Hanoi 12 seasons of flowers (Giang Son)...

Besides, there are many performances expressing the proud cultural and mandarin traditions of the thousand-year-old land of Thang Long; or the creativity of combining folk melodies such as Cheo singing, Xam singing... with modern music...

The program is even more attractive with the participation of famous artists such as: People's Artist Thu Huyen, Meritorious Artist Dang Duong; singers Dong Hung, Anh Tu, Lam Bao Ngoc;... with the presence of saxophone artists Hoang Tung, violinist Huyen Anh, pianist Trung Duc...

The program is a harmonious combination of many unique art forms: Music and dance, stage performances, 3D mapping technology projection, modern laser effects with multi-layered stage and historical documentary images... with the participation of famous singers such as

“Hanoi - Forever shining Vietnamese aspiration” is not only a special art program but also a spiritual symbol of Hanoi, a Hanoi rich in cultural identity, a Hanoi with courage, intelligence, integration and humanity, entering a new era with the whole country, a meaningful gift from Hanoi to the public on the occasion of celebrating the country's important holidays.
