The event has special significance as it takes place in the atmosphere of the whole country celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day, September 2.

SIHUB building has an area of nearly 17,000 m², operated under the public-private partnership model. The Center's operating model consists of two spaces: From the 1st to the 3rd floor is the space for programs managed by the State, where policies are implemented, talents are nurtured, and the spirit of creative entrepreneurship is spread. From the 4th to the 7th floor, the area attracts private resources, focusing on incubators, accelerators, venture capital funds, etc.

The center aims to provide “one-stop” services for the startup community: from legal advice, intellectual property, finance, fundraising, to technology research and development, connecting domestic and international markets. The 6th floor of the building will be reserved for the city’s International Financial Center during the official construction period.


Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City Lam Dinh Thang emphasized: “Ho Chi Minh City is known as the “land of startups”, where nearly 50% of the number of startups in the country, is the cradle of 3 technology unicorns: VNG , MoMo and Sky Mavis. The City's startup ecosystem is currently valued at about 7.4 billion USD, attracting more than 260 million USD in venture capital and is growing strongly on the global startup map. The opening of the SIHUB building today is a new launch pad to continue to inspire the spirit of “dare to think - dare to do” of the young generation, promoting the aspiration to reach out to the world”.


At the program, the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City, SIHUB and large domestic and foreign corporations and organizations such as Qualcomm (USA), Infineon (Germany), Mitsubishi (Japan), Sunwah (Hong Kong - China), Lotte Ventures, Viettel, Vietjet , National Innovation Center... signed cooperation agreements to promote innovative start-up activities in Ho Chi Minh City. In parallel, there were exhibition activities of more than 120 start-up enterprises...

Congratulating the inauguration of SIHUB building, Vice Chairwoman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy affirmed: "Over the past years, the city's startup ecosystem has attracted more than 2,000 startups (accounting for about 50% of the total number of startups in the country), the participation of more than 100 venture capital funds and more than 20,000 individuals operating in the field of science and technology. Ho Chi Minh City also cooperates closely with the world's leading technology corporations such as AMD, NVIDIA, Qualcomm, Mitsubishi...; international partners from Finland, Austria, the United Kingdom, Australia, the United States, Korea, Singapore... to develop technology with the city, build an innovative startup ecosystem. The city always welcomes and commits to creating the most favorable conditions for you to invest, cooperate, transfer technology and develop with us".
At the program, Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy called on the entire innovation and creative startup community in Ho Chi Minh City to make the most of the opportunities, preferential policies, working spaces and connections that the city is striving to create. Research institutes and universities in the city should promote their pioneering role in scientific research, training high-quality human resources and technology transfer. Enterprises should boldly invest in research and development, apply new technologies, innovate business models to improve productivity, quality and competitiveness...
