On the afternoon of July 2, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh and Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh co-chaired the 3rd meeting of the Steering Committee for the Exhibition of National Achievements on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day, with the theme "80 years of the journey of Independence - Freedom - Happiness."
This is a practical activity to honor outstanding achievements in the country's development process through the periods; affirm the leadership role of the Party, the management of the State, the consensus, creativity and efforts of the entire nation in the cause of national construction and development.
At the same time, this activity contributes to propagating andeducating the tradition of patriotism, strengthening people's belief in the path of innovation and sustainable development. This is an opportunity to promote the image of a dynamic, innovative Vietnam that is deeply integrated with the world.
The exhibition is held from August 28 to September 5 at the Vietnam Exhibition Center (Truong Sa Street, Dong Anh Ward, Hanoi City). The center has a total area of over 900,000m2 and is among the Top 10 largest exhibition center complexes in the world and the largest in Southeast Asia.
80 years of journey of Independence-Freedom-Happiness
Speaking at the opening of the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh, Head of the Exhibition Steering Committee, acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in building the organizational structure, planning, completing the Project and related documents, as well as the coordination of departments, ministries, branches and localities.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the Project to organize an Exhibition of National Achievements to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day, with the theme "80 years of the journey of Independence - Freedom - Happiness" was issued on July 1, 2025. This is the basis for agencies and units to implement. Previously, with the spirit of "running and lining up at the same time," the units had deployed many tasks related to the organization and implementation of the Exhibition.
Emphasizing that the time left to carry out the construction of the Exhibition is limited, measured in days, while the workload is huge and the requirements are very high, the Deputy Prime Minister requested ministries, branches and localities to focus resources to ensure the implementation of assigned tasks according to plan.
Ministries, branches, local People's Committees, agencies and units have specific plans, assigning "6 clear" tasks - "clear people, clear work, clear time, clear responsibility, clear products, clear results", preparing documents, materials and the most outstanding achievements for design, display and exhibition.
At the meeting, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung reported on the specific contents of the Project to organize the Exhibition of National Achievements on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day, the key tasks that need to be focused on in coordination between ministries, branches and localities; consulting units reported on the ideas and design of the Exhibition.
Informing that the policy of exhibiting the country's socio-economic achievements on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day is a major policy that the Party and State leaders are interested in, Minister Nguyen Van Hung emphasized that the guiding viewpoint and organization of the exhibition must depict a comprehensive picture of the 80-year journey of protecting, building and developing the country, ensuring inclusiveness, comprehensiveness, objectivity, honesty, feasibility, effectiveness and great influence.

Enhance the inspiration of patriotism and national spirit through vivid and rich forms of expression, combining specialized information with entertaining experiences. Create an exhibition space that harmoniously and reasonably combines with a service space, entertainment, and recreation that is well-organized, attractive, and brings a positive experience to the public.
The Minister also stated that the organization must be solemn, effective, cohesive, and harmonious between exhibition activities and supporting activities and services. The design and decoration must be consistent in the overall scheme, ensuring openness, cohesion, impression, and high aesthetics.
The display form must have highlights, apply modern techniques and technologies, be lively and rich. The activities in the exhibition must ensure practicality, richness, diversity, uniqueness, attractiveness, effectiveness, focus and economy, not ostentatious, avoid.
Must leave a strong impression on people
Informing that towards the 80th anniversary of National Day, there will be a series of events such as military parades, cultural and artistic activities, historical seminars... and the Exhibition is one of the events in this series of events, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh emphasized that the events organized are all very important and have great significance in promoting and introducing the image of the country and people of Vietnam.
Regarding the theme of the Exhibition, the Permanent Deputy Prime Minister acknowledged that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism made a very meaningful choice, reflecting the purpose of honoring the 80-year history of building and defending the Fatherland; affirming the leadership role of the Party, introducing outstanding achievements, promoting the image of the country and Vietnamese people, educating traditions and spreading the aspiration to rise up, the aspiration for development, thereby contributing to building and consolidating the great national unity bloc, strengthening the people's belief in the leadership of the Party and State, and belief in the future development of the country.
"The Government has set very high requirements for this exhibition, which must be rich and comprehensive in content, closely following the chosen theme," Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh emphasized.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh noted that the methods of introducing the products to the public must be very diverse, including artifacts, pictures, achievements in developing digital products and digital platforms. The Government also wants localities to choose and introduce cultural features, local specialties as well as art programs.
In terms of quality, the First Deputy Prime Minister stated that the exhibition must meet high quality, international standards, creating a vibrant and exciting atmosphere for the whole country towards the 80th anniversary of National Day. After the exhibition, it must leave a strong impression on the people, not only the people in the country but also international visitors.
After receiving the areas for implementation, the ministries, branches and localities immediately started to carry out the tasks, ensuring the requirements set out according to the objectives. The Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism synthesized the recommendations, proposals, difficulties and problems of the ministries, branches and localities in the process of preparing and organizing the Exhibition to promptly handle, remove or propose solutions.
