Previously, the Criminal Police Department (Ho Chi Minh City Police) discovered that the girls working at Restaurant 97 (97 bis Suong Nguyet Anh, Ben Thanh Ward, District 1) were engaged in prostitution and customer service, which was owned and directly managed by Nguyen.

According to the police, this was a prostitution ring operating under the guise of a restaurant in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City. The restaurant had been operating since 2018 and was the largest in a chain of restaurants (including several in District 5) owned by Nguyen.

Restaurant 97 and related individuals at the police station.

At the establishment, there were 15 rooms operating as unlicensed karaoke rooms, with approximately 60 female hostesses ready to serve male customers who requested their services, claiming they would not be detected by the police.

According to the investigation, to avoid detection, Nguyen directly instructed his subordinates to use slang terms like "eating rice, eating porridge" to imply that female escorts were allowed to engage in prostitution. Nguyen also frequently changed his methods of operation, finding various ways to evade the police.

In addition, this place has an alarm system (walkie-talkies, flashing lights, automatic sound muting, etc.), and there are always 3 to 5 security guards on duty, ready to sound the alarm in case of any incident.

In addition, Nguyen colluded with many managers to recruit hundreds of female waitresses to work in the restaurant chains he owned.

Recently, the Criminal Police Department (Ho Chi Minh City Police) raided a restaurant and seized numerous documents and evidence related to the establishment organizing female waitresses to engage in prostitution at hotels in Ho Chi Minh City. The police also brought several customers involved to the station for questioning.

At the police station, these individuals confessed that after eating and singing karaoke at Restaurant 97, they were introduced by a manager named Ngon to four female waitresses from the restaurant at a price of 12 million VND per waitress per night.

The police determined that Nguyen's restaurant chain attracted thousands of customers each month for dining and entertainment, generating tens of billions of dong in illicit profits.

Currently, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Investigation Agency is expanding its investigation into the case, pursuing and clarifying the identities of those who assisted in organizing and brokering prostitution at the restaurant in order to prosecute them according to the law.
