On the afternoon of March 21st, the National Election Council approved a resolution announcing the results of the 16th National Assembly election, one day earlier than the previously scheduled date of March 22nd. Following the success of the nationwide election on March 15th, the election results continue to receive great attention from voters across the country.

According to the published results, all 500 delegates to the 16th National Assembly were elected in a single round, with no localities requiring a re-election. Of the elected delegates, 418, or 83.6%, hold postgraduate degrees. This is expected to further solidify the National Assembly's position as the highest state power organ, serving the fulfillment of its constitutional functions.

The number of female delegates reached 150; there were 76 delegates from ethnic minorities; 18 delegates were not members of the Party; and 33 delegates were under 40 years old.

Notably, this is the first time the percentage of elected National Assembly deputies expected to serve full-time has reached its highest level ever, at 40%. Previously, this percentage was 9.44% in the 9th National Assembly, 32.8% in the 13th National Assembly, and 38.68% in the 15th National Assembly.

The composition of the 16th National Assembly delegates continues to include many intellectuals, experts, scientists, representatives of the private sector , and emerging fields. This is expected to further affirm the position of the National Assembly as the highest state power organ, while also contributing to the achievement of the country's development goals.

From 864 candidates nationwide, after careful consideration and selection, voters elected 500 delegates to the 16th National Assembly. This is the result of a well-prepared, professional, and meticulous selection process, reflecting the trust and expectations of voters in their representatives in the new state power body, with a spirit of substance and greater alignment with development requirements.

According to Major General, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Sau, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Institute of National Defense Strategy and History, the elected delegates not only received votes of confidence but also the great expectations of voters nationwide. This requires each delegate to constantly improve their political acumen, professional skills, and practical experience; to dare to think, dare to speak, dare to act, and dare to take responsibility for the common good.

Mr. Ta Van Ha, a member of the 15th National Assembly, believes that each representative must truly act, possess sufficient intelligence, vision, and courage to effectively fulfill their duties. This includes perfecting the legal framework, laying the foundation and paving the way for the country's development, while maximizing the utilization of resources.

From the voters' perspective, Mr. Le Dinh Can, a voter from Phu Dien ward, Hanoi, expressed his wish that representatives should be close to the people, listen to their opinions, maintain impartiality, integrity, and be exemplary in their actions and words. "Actions speak louder than words, no empty promises," Mr. Can emphasized.

Sharing the same view, Mr. Nguyen Van Hien, a voter from Quang Minh commune, Hanoi, hopes that the delegates will fulfill their commitments to the voters. Furthermore, before and after each National Assembly session, the people want to directly monitor and supervise the implementation of the delegates' promises.
