Over the years, the team of influential figures among ethnic minority communities in My Lung commune, Yen Lap district, has consistently played a crucial role as a "bridge" to convey the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws and regulations to the people; becoming a "pillar" of the villages in preserving and promoting ethnic cultural identity, building new rural areas, and contributing to overall development in the locality.

Mr. Dinh Cong Mot, a respected figure in Zone 8, My Lung Commune, Yen Lap District, exchanges information from the grassroots with commune officials.

Trusted and elected by the people as a respected figure among ethnic minorities in 2021, Mr. Dinh Cong Mot (born in 1958), a Muong ethnic minority resident in Zone 8, My Lung commune, has always been aware of his role and responsibility towards the community. He proactively understands the situation, thoughts, and aspirations of the people, regularly accompanying commune officials to each household to disseminate the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws. In addition, he encourages people to develop their economy , build a cultural life, and work together to eliminate outdated customs; he actively participates in mediating disputes and conflicts, contributing to maintaining local security and order.

“I myself am not afraid of hardship and difficulties in striving to do a good job of propaganda and mobilization of the people to compete in economic development, building new rural areas, and maintaining security and order in the area... I also always do a good job of setting an example, mobilizing people to eliminate outdated customs and preserve the good cultural identity and customs of the nation,” Mr. Mot shared.

Although he retired long ago, Mr. Nguyen Van Chinh, born in 1959, remains enthusiastic about community affairs and is always trusted and elected by the people of Zone 3A, My Lung Commune, as a respected figure in the residential area. With a strong sense of responsibility, over the years he has always been a "bridge" between the Party committee, the government, and the people. Mr. Chinh actively participates in contributing practical ideas to socio-economic development, security, and defense programs in the locality; he promotes and encourages people to participate in movements through neighborhood meetings and Party branch activities; and he works together to resolve common community issues, promote a cultured and civilized lifestyle, and build happy families. As a result, the people's awareness has been increasingly raised, and they are proactively working together to build a green, clean, and beautiful environment, eliminate outdated customs, and practice a civilized lifestyle in weddings, funerals, festivals, and birthday celebrations.

In My Lung commune, there are currently 11 influential individuals, mainly Party members, retired officials, and neighborhood leaders. This force directly propagates, mobilizes, and disseminates the Party and State's policies and laws to the people, leading in various movements; understanding the thoughts, feelings, aspirations, difficulties, and obstacles within the community, and then reporting them to the Party committee and government for consideration and resolution. Furthermore, they play a crucial role in maintaining national unity; exploiting the local potential and strengths to develop the economy and achieve sustainable poverty reduction.

The regular propaganda and mobilization efforts of influential individuals have contributed to improving the lives of the people, enabling them to confidently participate in production and economic development. To date, the poverty rate in My Lung commune has decreased to 11.4%, and the near-poverty rate to 12.8%; over 90% of families have achieved the title of "Culturally Advanced Family"; and 10 out of 11 residential areas have achieved the title of "Culturally Advanced Residential Area" at the district level. Good customs, traditions, and traditional festivals are maintained and promoted. Outdated customs and superstitions have been eradicated, and security and order have been maintained.

Comrade Hoang Xuan Thuy, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of My Lung commune, said: In the coming time, the commune will continue to create all conditions for influential people to more effectively promote their role among ethnic minority communities, contributing to the successful implementation of socio-economic development tasks in the locality.
