Northeast Riot Police Regiment: Maintaining peace in the Northeast region.

Ten years ago, on July 25, 2014, in response to the demands of the time and the continuous growth of the People's Public Security Force, along with many regiments and professional units under the Command of the Mobile Police Force, the Northeast Mobile Police Regiment was established. Over the past 10 years, despite numerous difficulties and challenges, the Regiment has affirmed its important role in ensuring local security and protecting the peace of the people.

As a special operations unit with concentrated armed combat capabilities, the Northeast Mobile Police Regiment is stationed in three provinces (Quang Ninh, Lang Son , and Thai Nguyen), with the nhiệm vụ of ensuring security and order; participating in rescue and relief operations, and mitigating the consequences of natural disasters and fires in seven northeastern provinces: Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Bac Giang, Lang Son, Thai Nguyen, Cao Bang, and Bac Kan.

Initially established with only 37 officers and soldiers, the Regiment now has nearly 700 officers and soldiers. Along with its specialized duties, the unit has received and trained 6,559 citizens fulfilling their mandatory service in the People's Public Security Force from the Mobile Police Command and local authorities; 141 conscripts from the unit have been admitted to police and military academies. This affirms the quality of training as well as the unit's commitment to supporting its soldiers in their journey to fulfill their dream of joining the armed forces and contributing to the building and protection of the Fatherland.

Sharing about the difficulties, challenges, and achievements of the Regiment in the past, Colonel Nguyen Van Vinh, the Regiment Commander, said: From the very beginning, the Party Committee and the Regiment's Command Board have always clearly identified the opportunities and advantages, as well as the immediate and long-term difficulties and challenges. From there, they have formulated appropriate leadership and guidance policies and measures, orienting the Regiment's operations with the motto of simultaneously receiving and training officers and soldiers, while consolidating, building, and developing the unit.

With the goal of building a truly clean, strong, professional, elite, and modern riot police force capable of meeting the demands of the new situation, over the past 10 years, the unit has organized numerous field trips, with tens of thousands of officers and soldiers going to remote areas, ethnic minority regions, and areas with complex security and order situations in 7 northeastern provinces. There, officers and soldiers both surveyed the area to develop operational plans and carried out community outreach work. This has fostered close relationships and left a positive image of the riot police force in particular, and the People's Police in general, in the hearts of the people, contributing to the promotion of the nationwide movement to protect national security.   in the northeastern provinces.

The Northeast Mobile Police Regiment is one of the "spearhead" units in training, combat readiness, and rapid deployment to promptly prevent and suppress disturbances, illegal demonstrations, political riots, armed riots, and coordinate the pursuit and arrest of dangerous criminals. The unit regularly coordinates with local forces to organize patrols and control to maintain security and order; participates in rescue operations, disaster prevention, and recovery from storms, floods, and fires… The officers and soldiers of the Regiment always uphold a high sense of responsibility with the spirit of "overcoming the sun and rain, diligently training," working day and night to master the theory and practice of military tactics and techniques, and skillfully using all types of military weapons and support tools provided to serve their work and combat. The unit has thoroughly practiced combat plans, regional defense plans, and counter-terrorism strategies across all types of terrain and locations, maintaining a state of readiness for combat.

The Northeast Mobile Police Regiment has participated in numerous training exercises and competitions in its area of ​​operation. Specifically in Quang Ninh, the unit deployed 450 officers and soldiers to coordinate with the police forces of Quang Ninh, Hai Duong, and Bac Giang provinces to ensure security and order, control and prevent the spread of Covid-19; participate in ensuring security and safety for the SEA Games 31; participate in fire fighting, search and rescue drills at Wyndham Legend Ha Long Hotel, Van Hai Hotel, and the Cua Luc sea area in Ha Long City; and train 250 officers and soldiers in three groups to participate in the 60th anniversary celebration of Quang Ninh province…

Along with performing its professional duties well, the Regiment focuses on implementing social work programs for the community, with many activities such as donating gifts to policy beneficiary households and households in difficult circumstances; building classrooms and toilets for schools in remote areas... which have been highly appreciated by Party committees, government authorities and the people.

Through practical work and combat experience, the Northeast Mobile Police Regiment has gradually matured, upholding its glorious heroic traditions, courage, and intelligence; affirming its armed strength and achieving many outstanding accomplishments and victories. In any historical period, generations of officers and soldiers of the Regiment have never shied away from difficulties and hardships, always upholding revolutionary traditions and will, demonstrating dedication and readiness to sacrifice themselves for the country, taking the interests of the Fatherland and the people as their highest ideal and goal to strive for in order to maintain peace and security.

With its achievements, the Northeast Mobile Police Regiment has received numerous Certificates of Commendation from the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Public Security, and Quang Ninh province; and has twice received the Prime Minister's Emulation Flag for outstanding performance in the emulation movement (2017, 2021). On the occasion of its 10th anniversary, the Regiment was honored to receive the Third-Class Military Merit Order from the President of Vietnam.

Colonel Nguyen Van Vinh, Regiment Commander, affirmed: "The outstanding achievements and victories that the unit has achieved over the past 10 years are truly something to be proud of. This is the culmination of a deep understanding and serious, creative, and effective implementation of the leadership and guidance of the Ministry of Public Security and the Mobile Police Command, along with the unity and tireless efforts of generations of officers and soldiers of the Regiment. In the coming time, along with the goal of modernizing the Mobile Police force, moving towards a regular, elite, and modern force by 2025 according to Resolution No. 12-NQ/TW of the Politburo, the Northeast Mobile Police Regiment will continue to overcome difficulties, uphold the tradition of unity, democracy, innovation, and responsibility; strive to be dynamic and creative, gradually building the style of a courageous, humane, and people-serving police officer..."
