During the Literature exam on the morning of June 11th, the Ministry of Education and Training reported that 12 candidates nationwide violated regulations and were suspended from the exam. Notably, 11 of these cases involved the use of mobile phones, and 1 case involved the use of unauthorized materials. Compared to the 2025 exam, the number of violating candidates increased by 2 cases.
This information serves as a further warning to candidates before they take the second exam.
This year, Hanoi has over 129,000 registered candidates, an increase of more than 5,000 compared to last year. Given the large number of candidates, the city has placed special emphasis on ensuring security, safety, and preventing cheating during the exams, right from the preparation stage.
Candidates are allowed to bring the following into the examination room: pens, pencils, erasers, rulers, set squares, graph rulers, drawing tools, and handheld calculators without text editing functions or memory cards.
Prohibited items in the examination room or waiting area include: carbon paper, correction fluid, alcoholic beverages; weapons, explosives, flammable materials; documents; communication devices, transmitting and receiving devices, audio and video recording devices, or devices containing information that could be used to cheat during the examination.
According to the exam regulations, mobile phones are among the items not allowed in the examination room. Candidates who bring a phone into the examination room, even if they haven't used it, may still be penalized according to the regulations.
Years of experience have shown that mobile phones remain the primary cause of exam rule violations. Just one moment of carelessness, forgetting a phone in a pocket or backpack, can lead to a candidate being disqualified from the exam, affecting the results of the entire examination.
Ahead of the mathematics exam this afternoon (June 11th), examination centers in Hanoi are continuing to strengthen measures to prevent cheating. Invigilators are instructed to repeatedly remind candidates about items not allowed in the examination room; they are also increasing checks and supervision to promptly detect any signs of violations.
The city's exam steering committee also requested that examination centers carefully review organizational conditions, strengthen inspection and supervision, and regularly update warnings from authorities about new cheating methods in order to promptly disseminate this information to invigilators and candidates.
This afternoon, starting at 2:30 PM, candidates will take the mathematics exam in multiple-choice format for 90 minutes.
