On the afternoon of December 17th, the Hau Giang Provincial Party Committee, in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, held a ceremony to receive the certificate recognizing the Hau Giang Provincial Political School as meeting Level 1 standards.

3 groundbreaking achievements of Hau Giang Political School
Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Loan, Principal of the Hau Giang Provincial Political School, stated that the Hau Giang Provincial Political School started from a low point compared to the criteria, only meeting Level 1 standards according to Regulation No. 11 of the Central Party Secretariat. At the end of 2021, the school only achieved 19 out of 55 Level 1 standards, nearly meeting 8 more standards (less than 50%), placing it in the bottom group nationwide.

In response to this situation, in December 2021, the school advised the Hau Giang Provincial Party Committee to issue Project No. 02 on "Developing the Hau Giang Provincial Political School until 2025, with a vision to 2030," linking it to the practical needs of the locality. Subsequently, the school's management board developed a plan to implement the project, dividing it into three groups of tasks to achieve 55 standard indicators at level 1. The school identified the content, target audience, solutions, timeframe, roadmap, and leveraged the role of staff in each department and office in fulfilling each specific criterion.

With determination and the right methods, after only 3 years of implementing Project 02, the Hau Giang Provincial Political School has achieved 6 groups of criteria with 55 indicators, including 10 indicators exceeding Level 1 standards. "It is an immense honor and source of pride that the school is among the top 15 nationwide to be recognized as meeting Level 1 standards as stipulated. Furthermore, compared to the set of indicators and looking at the national average, the school has made three noteworthy breakthroughs. These are in institutional and mechanism development; in advising on the quality of training and development of cadres, scientific research, and practical experience summation; and in advising on improving the quality of human resources," the Principal of the Hau Giang Provincial Political School enthusiastically shared.

According to Professor Nguyen Xuan Thang, Member of the Politburo, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, and Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, the fact that the Hau Giang Provincial Political School has achieved Level 1 standard affirms its role in the major tasks of the Party, the province, and the political system. It can be said that Hau Giang is the first locality in the country to approve a project to build a school that meets Level 1 standards. This demonstrates the profound concern of the provincial leadership.

With the achievements and existing potential, the Hau Giang Provincial Political School is fully qualified and has the prerequisites to prepare for Level 2 standards. "From 19 targets to 55 targets is no easy feat. Some targets are difficult, especially building a team of qualified staff, lecturers, and heads and deputy heads of departments and the school's management board. From a low starting point, the school has now far surpassed the requirements of Level 1 standards, not only meeting but exceeding the targets and approaching Level 2 standards. Many staff members are doctoral candidates, and 100% hold master's degrees or higher. The time frame is not long, and the school has achieved this through tremendous effort," Professor Nguyen Xuan Thang praised.
In the coming period, the Hau Giang Provincial Political School is urged to thoroughly understand the spirit of "students are the center, lecturers are the driving force, and the school is the foundation." Professor Nguyen Xuan Thang emphasized: "The school must not neglect the training and development of cadres and students. Slogans must be implemented effectively. How can we make political theory lectures attractive, engaging, and reflect the life of Hau Giang province and the Southern region? How can we make students feel that not attending classes or arriving late is a disadvantage?"
Professor Nguyen Xuan Thang expects the Hau Giang Provincial Political School to achieve Level 2 standards sooner than the top 15 nationwide.
Mr. Dong Van Thanh, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Hau Giang province, said that while the Hau Giang Provincial Party Committee has 20 years of development, the Party School has a 75-year tradition in the heroic land of Long My district, Hau Giang province. Hau Giang province is always proud, appreciative, and determined to strive to live up to the trust and expectations left by previous generations on this homeland.
In that spirit, the Secretary of the Hau Giang Provincial Party Committee requested the Hau Giang Provincial Political School to strive to maintain the criteria and standards of Level 1 already achieved, recognizing that "achieving the standard is difficult, maintaining it is even more difficult." Another important task is to develop a plan to further promote the implementation of Project 02, aiming to build the school to achieve Level 2 standards, with a scientific, feasible, and practical implementation roadmap. The provincial leadership will always accompany and support the school to jointly achieve the goal of bringing the school to Level 2 standards sooner than the top 15 nationwide.
