Previously, Mr. Manh's family only grew corn and cassava for low income. With the determination to rise up and not accept poverty, in 2017, Mr. Manh began to explore economic methods suitable for the place where he lived. With the family's savings, he boldly borrowed an additional 30 million VND from the district's Social Policy Bank to build a barn for breeding cows, dig a pond for fish, and build an irrigation system to plant 5,000m2 of elephant grass to proactively source fresh food for livestock farming. In addition, he also actively participated in training courses organized by the commune on techniques for raising cows and planting elephant grass.

Thanks to knowing how to exploit advantages and overcome difficulties when starting to implement the model, his diligence and determination have helped him have a model with high economic efficiency. Up to now, Mr. Manh's family model has 21 breeding cows, more than 700m2 of ponds for raising perch and hybrid catfish. In addition, Mr. Manh also accepts to transport goods, transport construction materials, collect agricultural products to sell to agents to increase income... After deducting expenses, his family has a stable income of nearly 300 million VND/year and has become a typical economic model in the emulation movement of good production and business of the commune.

As the head of Hop Thanh village, Mr. Nguyen Van Manh always sets an example, upholds the sense of responsibility, and strives to fulfill his assigned tasks well. He regularly visits each house, grasps the thoughts and aspirations of the people to reflect to the local government. He encourages people to comply with the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, the residential area's conventions and covenants, participates in protecting the rural environment, and actively responds to movements launched by the locality.

Mr. Manh said: As the village chief, I have promoted and mobilized people to develop the economy such as raising livestock, growing vegetables, trading and doing business; transforming ineffective crop structures, applying science and technology to production. And to make people believe and follow me, I myself have to be a pioneer, take the lead, and create a model for people to learn from. During the process, I regularly guide and disseminate knowledge and experience in raising livestock to households in the village, support people to borrow capital and breed animals. Thereby, helping many households have conditions to improve their lives. Up to now, Hop Thanh village has 56 households, of which only 2 are poor and 2 are near-poor.

With his responsibility, enthusiasm, efforts, daring to think and act, Mr. Manh has not only helped his family escape poverty and become rich, but also contributed to the local new rural construction movement.
