That is why many people still call Nha Xa the “runner-up” village in silk weaving. After more than 700 years of existence and development, Nha Xa silk weaving has been closely associated with the lives of the people here, becoming an indispensable part of the local culture and economy .
Visiting Nha Xa silk village, we heard the sound of weaving machines operating day and night. Ms. Nguyen Thi Nguyet, Nha Xa Nguyet Hung Silk Production and Trading Facility, said that Nha Xa silk is made from natural silk, giving a cool feeling when touched. The silk fabric is thin and light but still ensures high durability. In particular, silk has the ability to regulate temperature, helping the wearer feel warm in winter and cool in summer. This is an outstanding advantage that makes Nha Xa silk popular with many people.
Previously, Nha Xa people grew mulberry and raised silkworms for cocoons. However, they now import silk thread from reputable suppliers to ensure quality and meet production needs. In addition, households in the village have invested in modern machinery in production to increase productivity and reduce labor.
“To increase labor productivity, we have converted machinery from old technology to modern technology. Compared to before, our productivity has doubled,” said Ms. Nguyet.

Mr. Pham Van Thuc, Nha Xa Thuc Lien Silk Production and Trading Establishment said, we have also promoted the Nha Xa silk product brand and sold products on social networks to help better consume products and increase family income.
According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Chairman of Nha Xa Silk Production and Trading Association, currently the whole village has more than 100 families participating in silk weaving with about 500 weaving machines. Each month, about 100 - 120,000m of silk are produced. Nha Xa silk products are widely consumed in big cities such as Hanoi , Hue, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City. In addition, Nha Xa silk is also exported to countries such as Laos and Thailand, meeting the diverse needs of domestic and foreign customers.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh said that after the market developed, Nha Xa silk weavers learned and created new patterns. The diversity in designs and patterns helps Nha Xa silk meet the diverse needs of customers. In addition to traditional plain silk, Nha Xa also produces many new products such as floral silk, linen, spun silk, linen... Nha Xa silk products are very diverse, including ao dai, scarves, ties, embroidered silk blankets and pillows, bags, wallets, backpacks made from silk... This diversity meets the needs of many different customers. With a hard-working nature, eager to learn, and quick to respond to the market, Nha Xa people have brought the village's silk products to all parts of the country.
However, Mr. Binh is still worried, when skilled artisans who are committed to the profession are very few, the younger generation is not interested in the traditional silk weaving profession. Production facilities mainly operate on a small scale, there is no connection between production families in the association. In addition, with 50% of Nha Xa silk products being exported, they basically depend on different key enterprises.

With the desire to bring Nha Xa silk far and wide, Nha Xa Silk Production and Trading Association is trying to be proactive in approaching the market, regularly promoting products through participating in fairs, on social networks so that more people know the Nha Xa Silk brand. In addition, diversifying Nha Xa silk products to meet the needs of different customers, connecting production households together, acting as a focal point for businesses...
With constant efforts in innovation and development, Nha Xa silk village is gradually affirming its position in domestic and foreign markets, contributing to preserving and promoting traditional cultural values of Vietnam.
