New customers, regular customers

Upon receiving the announcement that the Free Legal Advice Program, jointly organized by Dong Nai Newspaper and Radio/Television with the Provincial Bar Association, would restart on July 16th and continue regularly every week, many citizens and regular readers of the former Dong Nai Newspaper did not hesitate to call to inquire. This program, a collaboration between the former Dong Nai Newspaper, the Provincial Lawyers Association, and the former Dong Nai Provincial Bar Association, has been effectively maintained over the years, attracting a considerable number of people seeking free legal advice.

Therefore, after a temporary suspension due to the relocation of headquarters for the merger of media agencies, the Editorial Board of Dong Nai Newspaper and Radio, Television and Radio has restarted this program to continue providing legal support to the people.

Mr. Le Quang Huynh (residing in Xuan Hoa commune) stated that at 5:00 AM on July 16th, he and his son set off by motorbike to arrive by 8:00 AM to meet with a lawyer to explain the details of their lawsuit to reclaim land and assets attached to it, following a land transfer contract he signed with Mr. NM, a resident of the same locality. According to Mr. Huynh, after purchasing the land, Mr. NM failed to pay the full transfer amount as stipulated in the contract, occupying the land and assets attached to it for use for many years.

"If I hadn't been guided by a lawyer and shown a solution, I would have continued running around asking this person or that person to intervene, or the two sides would have argued endlessly until they were exhausted and frustrated, which wouldn't have helped at all," Mr. Huynh said.

According to Le Quang Y, Deputy Head of the Dong Nai Provincial Bar Association, to support the Dong Nai Newspaper and Radio and Television Station in the Free Legal Advice Program for Citizens, the Provincial Bar Association always selects skilled lawyers with professional experience, expertise in their field, and good coordination skills to provide free advice.

Because it was her first time visiting the Dong Nai Newspaper and Broadcasting Station to seek legal advice from lawyers and legal experts, Ms. NTH (residing in Tan An commune) was a little hesitant. However, after being spoken to and encouraged by the lawyers and legal experts, Ms. H. became more open.

Ms. H. stated that since her marital problems began, her husband has been moving from place to place, only occasionally visiting their child. After she proposed a divorce, her husband refused and has been gone for nearly two years. Now, she wants to file for divorce but faces the obstacle of not being able to determine her husband's current residence to submit the application. Therefore, she wishes to consult a lawyer for advice.

Opening the way for the people.

As someone involved in providing free legal advice at the former Dong Nai Newspaper (now Dong Nai Newspaper, Radio, and Television) since 1997, lawyer and legal expert Ngo Van Dinh (from the Provincial Lawyers Association) shared that most people seek the advice program for their own or their family's needs. Therefore, he is always enthusiastic and dedicated to providing support. However, he is also always vigilant against those who exploit the charitable nature of the program to offer paid legal consulting services to clients, or who misuse the information provided by lawyers and legal experts from Dong Nai Newspaper, Radio, and Television to file complaints or lawsuits, causing difficulties for agencies and localities.

According to legal expert Ngo Van Dinh, when providing advice, lawyers and legal experts always request and encourage people to bring complete files, documents, and evidence to prove that their requests and presentations are legitimate and legal. If these requirements are missing, lawyers and legal experts will encourage them to supplement them and will only provide guidance based on the available documents, rather than advising to fulfill their wishes while the files and documents are unavailable.

The work of disseminating, educating, and providing free legal advice and assistance to citizens, especially vulnerable groups in society such as the poor, disabled, children, and ethnic minorities, has always been a priority for all levels of government, organizations, and the political system, including Dong Nai Newspaper and Radio and Television. Therefore, continuing the Free Legal Advice Program for Citizens has profound humanitarian significance and is highly appreciated by the people.
