Timeless as a slice of time
Timeless consists of eight old songs, like a slice of time in the flow of Vietnamese music history. Covering songs associated with a certain famous singer, Timeless still has Tung Duong's style.
My favorite is Rieng mot goc troi, the harmony and singing open up spaces rarely seen in this familiar song, bringing new experiences.
On the background of the jazz and funk arrangement by music director Hong Kien, the guitar, piano, drums, trumpet... resonate, the singer juggles and sings.
There are places where the melody is very typical of Tung Duong, there are places where it spirals up high and is playful and then drifts (the hook); or the ending is rough and rustic, the song is finished but the voice still vibrates in the throat.
"Nailed" by Tuan Ngoc's voice, Tung Duong was not foolish enough to sing like him. Not simply singing "straight", he brought a Rieng mot goc troi full of variations while still maintaining the spirit of the song.
That's also Timeless 's way, leading the audience back to the most original things but still showing the aesthetics of the new generation singing old music. And actually, if Tung Duong sang like Tuan Ngoc, it would be boring, so Tung Duong just had to be Tung Duong!

Listening to Kiep nao co yeu nhau through Tung Duong's voice feels more light-hearted, although the pain of the young girl from years ago is still there. And in that world of love songs, there cannot be a lack of Trinh's music: Lullaby to us, Dau chan dia dang.
"Listening to the disc, the audience will hear a few notes that are true to the human voice, a bit bright or a bit flat... I want to keep and preserve the simple and authentic singing voice, less ornate, and not use technology in this return," Tung Duong said.
The artist shared that after many experimental and groundbreaking albums in recent years such as Human, Multiverse , Timeless , Tung Duong's voice has returned to its most refined form. There, the beauty of his voice goes hand in hand with melodies that are attached to the souls of many generations of Vietnamese music lovers.
Tung Duong sings with tolerance and experience
Musician Hong Kien said that Tung Duong's voice is now at its peak, combined with experience and careful research on music and singing style, so Tung Duong seems to fly on the arrangements, sometimes harmonious, sometimes leisurely, sometimes intense, very versatile.
According to him, Tung Duong is enthusiastic but this time his voice is tolerant, experienced and steps back to clearly see the picture of Vietnamese music through many periods.

Speaking to Tuoi Tre , the singer said that this is the first vinyl record in a series of tributes to musicians of the previous generation. As before, he honored the "Red River Quartet" (Pho Duc Phuong, Nguyen Cuong, Duong Thu, Tran Tien), honored old music in CD Tung Duong sings love songs 1 or honored love songs praising the homeland and country in Tung Duong sings love songs 2.
"Next could be younger musicians, the generation of Phu Quang, Thanh Tung... And who knows, maybe one day they'll make vinyl records of today's youth music?", Tung Duong revealed.
