Over the past period, the local government, along with departments, agencies, and mass organizations in Vinh Tuy commune, has intensified propaganda and mobilization efforts to encourage the people to actively participate in the movement for national unity in building a cultured life, achieving many positive results. The commune has chosen implementation methods suitable for each target group, area, and residential zone to foster a spirit of unity and community cooperation. A highlight is the construction of model roads that are bright, green, clean, and beautiful. To date, almost all hamlets in the commune have built at least one model road.
Ms. Huynh Thi The, Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Vinh Tuy commune, said: "Implementing the campaign to build '5 no, 3 clean' families, in addition to maintaining and caring for the previously built bright, green, clean, and beautiful roads, in 2025, the union will build four more roads in Phuoc An, Vinh Hung, Thang Loi, and Vinh Tan hamlets."
Visiting the model of a green, clean, and beautiful road stretching over 1.5km in Hamlet 7, Chien Thang Village, one can clearly feel the transformation of this rural area. Inter-communal roads and roads within the hamlet have been widened and paved with clean, beautiful concrete; both sides of the road are covered with green trees, along with vibrant flowers like portulaca, bougainvillea, and marigolds. The road is also equipped with a lighting system and flagpoles. During holidays and festivals, residents collectively display the national flag, creating a peaceful and beautiful rural landscape.
From the very beginning of its implementation, the model received widespread support and positive response from the people. Each household raised their awareness of maintaining environmental hygiene, regularly sweeping streets and alleys, sorting and disposing of waste in designated areas, and clearing overgrown bushes. Many households planted trees to create fences and flowers along the roadside, contributing to keeping the road green, clean, and beautiful, as its name suggests.
Ms. Nguyen Kim Tien, a resident living along the road, shared: “On weekends or during gatherings, the women in the neighborhood work together to sweep the road and take care of the flowerbeds. Thanks to this, the rural environment is becoming cleaner and more beautiful. The country road has been given a new look, not only beautifying the landscape and providing fresh air but also contributing to ensuring security and order. With streetlights at night, people feel safer when traveling.”
Leaving Chien Thang hamlet, we arrived at Phuoc Loi hamlet. The hamlet's green, clean, and beautiful road, over 1km long, is paved and well-maintained, facilitating convenient travel for residents. Currently, Phuoc Loi hamlet maintains several environmental protection models such as an environmental protection club; a model for collecting pesticide bottles and packaging by the hamlet's Farmers' Association; and a model for promoting the construction of bright, green, clean, and beautiful roads by the hamlet's Women's Association.
When the model road was established, people clearly recognized its practical benefits and significance, so they proactively planted and cared for trees and ornamental plants on their family's land, creating flowerbeds and green spaces along the roadside. They actively participated in collective labor, regularly caring for the plants and keeping the road clean and beautiful. In the days leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year), the residents were busy trimming, cleaning, and beautifying the flower-lined road to welcome the spring.
The family of Mr. Tran Van Khoi, residing in Phuoc Loi hamlet, is one of the households actively participating in the model. In front of his house, he planted bougainvillea, neatly trimmed, creating a highlight for the road. “Building a green, clean, and beautiful road brings practical benefits. My family plants trees as a fence, maintains cleanliness in the yard, beautifies our house, and contributes to beautifying the rural road, creating a new look for our hometown,” Mr. Khoi shared.
The model roads that have been created contribute to changing the face of rural areas, building livable villages; raising awareness and forming a cultured and civilized way of life in the community.
