(CPV) - According to the latest data from the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, the average on-time performance of Vietnamese airlines in November 2024 reached 68%, of which the most punctual airline was Bamboo Airways.

Specifically, Bamboo Airways operated 86.8% of flights on time in November 2024. The remaining two airlines, Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet, recorded on-time rates of 72% and 59.2%, respectively. VASCO operated 83.4% of flights on time, Pacific Airlines operated 82.4% of flights on time, while Vietravel Airlines' OTP rate was 73.9%.
Regarding the cancellation rate, in November 2024, the industry recorded 106 flight cancellations, equivalent to 0.5% of the total number of flights operated. Of which, Pacific Airlines did not cancel any flights, Bamboo Airways and Vietjet Air had cancellation rates of 0.2% and 0.3%, respectively. Vietnam Airlines and VASCO canceled 0.8% of flights, while Vietravel Airlines canceled 2.3% of flights.
Compared to the same period in 2023, the industry's flight output in November 2024 increased by 1% (from 19,502 flights to 19,697 flights), the average on-time rate decreased by 16.2 percentage points (from 84.2% to 68%). The cancellation rate increased by 0.2 percentage points (from 0.3% to 0.5%). Bamboo Airways was the most punctual airline in both periods.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority, up to now, the total number of seats provided on international and domestic flights from January 14 to February 12, 2025 has reached more than 7 million seats, an increase of more than 5% compared to the Giap Thin Lunar New Year. The number of domestic seats provided has reached more than 4.9 million seats, with an average of 165,000 seats/day, an increase of about 4.8% compared to 2024.
In the pre-holiday period (from From January 21 to January 28, 2025, the booking rate on flights from Ho Chi Minh City to other provinces and cities has mostly reached over 50%. Some flights to Hue/Pleiku/Tuy Hoa/Quy Nhon/Quang Binh/Thanh Hoa/Vinh even recorded high booking rates. A representative of Bamboo Airways said that many flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Thanh Hoa, Vinh, Hai Phong of the airline were fully booked, while the return flights (offset) were still open for sale with a wide range of ticket prices, from only 59,000 VND/way (excluding taxes and fees).
Meanwhile, after the holiday (from February 1 to February 7, 2025), flights returning to Ho Chi Minh City from Pleiku/Tuy Hoa/Thanh Hoa/Quy Nhon/Chu Lai/Dong Hoi/Buon Ma Thuot recorded high booking rates. Some days also recorded booking rates of up to 100%.
To meet the needs of people returning home for family reunions and traveling during Tet, domestic airlines are actively increasing their fleets and reopening many tourist routes. Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet are expected to welcome new aircraft in the last month of the year.
