Australia initiates anti-dumping investigation into imported hot-rolled rebar.

According to information from the Trade Remedies Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade , the Australian Anti-Dumping Commission (ADC) under the Australian Department of Industry, Science and Resources recently announced the initiation of an anti-dumping investigation into hot-rolled steel bars imported from Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Turkey, and Vietnam.

Accordingly, the plaintiff, Infrabuild NSW Pty Limited of Australia, filed a request for an anti-dumping investigation into the aforementioned products with HS codes: 7214.20.00; 7228.30.10; 7228.30.90 and 7228.60.10. The investigation period is from July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024.

The Australian Anti-Dumping Commission (ADC) has issued a Questionnaire for Vietnamese exporters. The deadline for responding to the Questionnaire is October 31, 2024.

According to the case schedule, ADC is expected to issue its Preliminary Conclusion on November 25, 2024 (subject to extension), its Report on Key Facts on January 13, 2025, and its Final Conclusion on February 26, 2025.

The Trade Remedies Department recommends that the Association and relevant manufacturing and exporting enterprises take the following actions: Carefully study the application dossier, the initiation notice, and the guidelines and regulations; fully and comprehensively cooperate in answering the investigation questionnaire and providing information as requested by the ADC; and regularly provide information and exchange updates with the Trade Remedies Department to receive timely support.
