The application of AI significantly shortens the processing time for applications; customers can apply for loans and receive disbursement within just a few hours.

According to Mr. Son, for mountainous areas like Son La, where transportation is still difficult, digital banking solutions bring clear benefits to businesses and people. Previously, many businesses in remote communes had to spend a lot of time traveling to branches to conduct transactions or apply for loans. Now, customers can perform all transactions on their smartphones, receiving 24/7 service without having to go to the bank in person.

In reality, AI is opening up many new opportunities for local businesses as digital transformation becomes an increasingly essential requirement. However, the application of AI in Son La still faces difficulties due to limitations in technological infrastructure, human resources, and the financial capacity of small and medium-sized enterprises.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Khanh, Chairman of the Provincial Business Association, informed: The province has over 5,000 enterprises, with a total registered capital of over 144,499 billion VND, contributing 30% of local budget revenue and creating stable jobs for over 80,000 workers. To support businesses in adapting to new technological trends, on March 31, 2026, the Son La Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 769/QD-UBND on the plan to implement the Digital Transformation Project for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises in the period 2026-2030.
The plan aims to support at least 60% of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in participating in digital transformation activities by 2030. Support focuses on assessing readiness for digital transformation, testing digital and AI platforms, providing technology solutions, and training digital skills for businesses and employees. Simultaneously, emphasis is placed on raising awareness about digital transformation within the business community; organizing training courses on AI application skills such as ChatGPT and Gemini for officials, businesses, and cooperatives. Developing digital data infrastructure and sharing specialized data in agriculture, processing industries, logistics, and finance is also being implemented to support businesses in analyzing, forecasting, and optimizing production and business operations.
With clear direction and synchronized solutions, the application of AI and digital transformation in Son La is gradually creating changes in the production and business activities of local enterprises.
