The VTVgo app has been identified by Google as a government app.

(CLO) On December 12th, Google made changes to the classification of many mobile applications on the Play Store. Among them, the VTVgo application was identified as a government application.

For VTVgo, the mobile app store with the world's largest user base, to recognize its national stature, besides criteria such as being provided by a reputable government agency, it also requires the scale, audience reach, and influence on the public in the region where the application provides services.

Google categorizes VTVgo as a government application.

The national online digital television platform VTVgo currently has 47 million installations and over 1.6 billion views annually. Besides 68 television channels, in its new development plan, starting in 2025, VTVgo will add paid television channel packages, integrate public services, digital payments, interactive features, and affiliate marketing to effectively meet all the digital service needs of citizens and businesses.

Launched in 2014 with the initial goal of being an application that allowed viewers to watch VTV programs completely free of charge, after a process of development and refinement, VTVgo has become a familiar application to tens of millions of viewers across the country and around the world.

VTVgo is available on all app stores for mobile devices and smart TVs. The app has been installed 47 times and consistently ranks among the top most downloaded apps.

With the coordination, support, and guidance from the Ministry of Information and Communications , VTVgo has been integrated into smart TVs manufactured, imported, and distributed in Vietnam since 2024. Several major TV manufacturers have pre-installed the VTVgo application on the main screen interface of their TVs.

According to Mr. Dinh Dac Vinh, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Television, Vietnam Television has also worked with TV manufacturers to have a VTVgo shortcut on TV remotes starting in 2024, thereby making it easier for viewers to watch television programs on VTVgo.
