In Pa Cop village, from early morning, people were busy harvesting plums in their orchards, creating a bustling atmosphere. To ensure timely harvesting, Mr. Do Quy Hanh mobilized family members and hired five local laborers. Large, ripe, red plums, hanging heavily on the branches, were carefully picked and gathered in the orchard for sorting and packaging before being sent for sale. Mr. Hanh said: "My family has 6 hectares of plum trees, currently being harvested. This year, thanks to favorable weather and proper care, the fruit is uniform, beautiful in appearance, juicy, and sells for 10,000-15,000 VND/kg, depending on size. To ensure product quality, my family prioritizes the use of organic fertilizers, maintains grass to retain soil moisture, and prunes branches correctly. As a result, this year's plum harvest is expected to yield a good harvest, approximately 60 tons of fruit." Besides selling to traders, the family also combines this with welcoming tourists to visit and experience picking plums in the orchard, contributing to increased income.

In Long Luong village, from early morning, groups of motorbikes carrying ripe plums from the orchards flocked to the collection point to sell to traders. The buying and selling atmosphere was bustling, with dozens of tons of bright red, plump plums being sorted on the spot before being packed into boxes for transport to other provinces and cities. Currently, traders are buying ripe plums in bulk at prices ranging from 5,000 to 10,000 VND per kilogram.

Parking her motorbike loaded with freshly picked plums from the orchard, Ms. Hang Thi Dua from Long Luong village happily said: "This year, although the price of late-season plums is lower than expected, thanks to the high yield and the uniform and beautiful fruit, the villagers still have an income. My family grows more than 2 hectares of plums, and this year we expect to earn over 150 million VND. In recent years, people in the village have also focused on safe farming practices to improve fruit quality."

The entire Van Ho commune currently has over 560 hectares of plum orchards, with an annual production of nearly 5,000 tons. With the advantage of suitable climate and soil conditions, Van Ho plums have high quality, attractive appearance, and high yields. Mr. Nguyen Van Bac, Vice Chairman of the Commune People's Committee, said: To support farmers in selling their products, the commune has proactively coordinated with relevant agencies, cooperatives, and businesses to connect with consumption markets; promoting plums on digital platforms, e-commerce sites, and social media. At the same time, organizing experiential activities and plum orchard tours linked to the development of agricultural tourism contributes to promoting the image and enhancing the value of local agricultural products, building the Van Ho plum brand in a safe and sustainable manner. Since the beginning of the year, the commune's specialized agencies have organized two training courses, guiding over 120 plum-growing households on techniques for caring for the trees, controlling pests and diseases, producing organically, and improving the quality and competitiveness of their products in the market.
With a focus on developing safe, organic production linked to brand building and experiential tourism, late-season plums are becoming a key crop providing income, helping people in Van Ho commune stabilize their lives and achieve sustainable economic development.
