Held annually, the Het Cha Festival of the Thai ethnic group, a national intangible cultural heritage, is a profound spiritual and cultural activity that unites the Thai community as they embark on a new farming season. It is an occasion for people to express gratitude to heaven and earth, to their parents and guardians; to pray for harmony, prosperity, a peaceful life, favorable weather, bountiful harvests, and good health for everyone. In the preservation of this intangible cultural heritage, the role of folk artisans – the "living treasures" – in passing on the cultural flame to future generations cannot be overlooked.

Mr. Vi Van Phinh, an artisan of the Het Cha Festival in Na Ang residential area, shared: "The festival is held annually in March. Besides maintaining and organizing the festival every year, we also actively teach the younger generation how to perform the Then worship ritual and recreate the simple labor and production activities during the process of establishing villages and communities, hoping that the cultural identity of our ethnic group will endure forever."

In addition, the ethnic minorities in Moc Son still preserve many traditional crafts such as basket weaving, brocade weaving, and the processing of ethnic specialty dishes . With skillful and diligent hands, they create brocade products with vibrant colors, delicate patterns, and diverse designs. Ms. Hoang Thi Loat, Director of the Hoang Long Brocade Craft Village Cooperative, said: "With the aim of preserving and promoting the traditional weaving craft, we established the Hoang Long Brocade Craft Village Cooperative with 21 members. Not only do we focus on preserving the craft, but we also aim to make brocade a distinctive local tourism product. Therefore, the cooperative members are constantly researching, innovating, improving, and understanding consumer tastes to produce products that meet customer needs, while still preserving traditional values and making them meaningful souvenirs for tourists."

Sitting by the loom, experiencing the process of weaving brocade, Ms. Hoang Khanh Hoa, a tourist from Hanoi, excitedly said: "Having directly experienced the weaving process, from bouncing the cotton and spinning the yarn to manually guiding the shuttle to create vibrant brocade fabrics, I truly understand the patience and skillful hands of the Thai women here. Each pattern and design embroidered on the fabric is not only the result of meticulous labor but also contains a rich cultural heritage. This hands-on experience has made my trip to explore Moc Chau plateau much more profound, meaningful, and memorable."

Tourists experience the Thai ethnic culture through the Het Cha Festival.

To preserve and promote the cultural values of ethnic groups in conjunction with the development of tourism , Moc Son ward has provided funding for the restoration and reenactment of several traditional festivals and implemented unique cultural experience models, creating attractive tourism products. In addition, amateur performing arts groups in villages and hamlets maintain their activities, participating in performances, exchanges, festivals, competitions, and shows, contributing to preserving cultural identity, enhancing the spiritual life of the people, and serving tourists.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Truong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Moc Son Ward, said: Along with restoring, preserving, and promoting intangible cultural heritage, especially traditional folk festivals, the ward also focuses on building new cultural spaces. A highlight is the "Colorful Moc Son" cultural space, which vividly recreates the cultural beauty of the ethnic groups in the area, contributing to the formation of new tourism products and creating a unique highlight for the locality.

The unique cultural features and attractive natural landscapes have created a distinct appeal for tourism in Moc Son. From the beginning of the year until now, the ward has welcomed over 528,000 visitors, with estimated social revenue exceeding 316 billion VND. This serves as a driving force for Moc Son to continue developing tourism while preserving ethnic cultural identity, maintaining the landscape, and building distinctive and attractive tourism products for visitors.
