Dedication and creativity stemming from life experiences.
People often fear old age, but for true artists, time is a catalyst that enriches their life experiences and passion. In 2026, Meritorious Artist and Choreographer Le Cuong will turn 70, carrying on more than half a century immersed in the spotlight and folk dances. Having served as the Head of the Tuyen Quang Provincial Theater Association for nearly 15 years, artist Le Cuong has played a bridging role, connecting dance artists in the province. At the same time, together with the members, he has contributed to preserving and promoting the folk dances of ethnic minorities, making them an indispensable part of the province's cultural events and festivals.

“As the new year approaches, I hope that artistic life will become increasingly professional. Spring is always full of inspiration, so I will definitely travel to gather inspiration for creating new works. Especially to areas with large ethnic minority populations to collect and create. I love the dances of the Dao, Mong, and Lo Lo people… I aspire to contribute to the advancement of Tuyen Quang dance, integrating it both domestically and internationally ,” shared artist Le Cuong.
Also wholeheartedly devoted to national culture, true to the saying "having an elderly person in the house is like having a treasure," in 2025, folk culture researcher Tong Dai Hong reaped the rewards of his diligent work. In August 2025, the Institute of Han Nom Studies specially organized a seminar to introduce and present the Tay Nom Dictionary by author Tong Dai Hong.
Associate Professor Dr. Vuong Thi Huong, Deputy Director of the Institute of Han Nom Studies and Editor-in-Chief of the Han Nom Journal, affirmed that this is a monumental dictionary, compiling over 6,300 entries, contributing to the preservation and promotion of the Tay Nom script heritage. The Institute highly appreciates the intellect, effort, and dedication of the author over the past period. The Tay Nom dictionary has been computerized into an electronic dictionary, facilitating research, translation, and learning. Looking ahead to 2026, researcher Tong Dai Hong's aspiration is simple yet profound. He shared: "I hope there will be more activities bringing folk culture into schools, igniting the flame of love for our cultural roots in the younger generation."
When discussing contemporary Tuyen Quang literature, writer Chu Thi Minh Hue, with works such as "Dew-Drenched Chestnut Blossoms," "The Road to Happiness," "Against the Current of Migration," and "Twelve Layers of Heaven," has created lasting impressions and firmly anchored herself in the hearts of readers nationwide.
For Chu Thi Minh Hue, 2025 was a year of upheaval but also of great determination. Following the province's administrative boundary merger and changes, she transferred to the Tuyen Quang Provincial Association of Literature and Arts in Minh Xuan ward. For this female writer, it was a new journey of experience; initial anxieties gradually gave way to resilient adaptation.
She confided that 2026 will be the year she devotes all her energy to writing extensively. She wants to express her love for the people of the mountainous regions, but from a fresh perspective: the people of the mountains facing the changes of modern society. It's a clash between the old and the new, between identity and integration.
A pillar of support for the new year.
Following the merger policy effective July 1, 2025, the Tuyen Quang Association of Literature and Arts has become a large and warm common home. With 312 active members in 7 grassroots branches, 6 specialized branches, and 1 team, the Association possesses an unprecedentedly abundant creative resource.
In contemporary Tuyen Quang music , Meritorious Artist Ngo Sy Tung always considers himself deeply attached to the mountains and forests. This enduring love was deservedly rewarded when he won the B Prize at the 2025 National Music Festival with his work "Where the Sacred Forest Is." The message about the intense desire to live, like the sacred forest itself, touched the hearts of audiences nationwide. Sharing his thoughts on this success, Meritorious Artist Ngo Sy Tung expressed: "I love Tuyen Quang and am grateful to this land for giving me endless inspiration. That is the motivation for me to continue creating in the new year."
Beyond music, Tuyen Quang's photography has also made its mark internationally. At the 13th International Art Photography Competition 2025 (VN-25) – a competition that brought together thousands of works from 22 countries – photographer Le Hong Duc brought honor to his province with an Encouragement Award for his work "Temptation". Having dedicated over 20 years to photography, traveling and capturing the essence of his homeland, this award is a well-deserved recognition of Le Hong Duc's serious artistic endeavors and also inspires strong creativity among young photographers in the province.
Among young artists, folk artist Chu Thach, with his talent for playing the Tinh lute and singing Then songs, not only shines on domestic stages but also brings the music of the Tay people to international friends in South Korea and China. Thach is always striving to explore and create new performance methods, bringing traditional music closer to young people through social media. "I want to convey this love to young people, so that together we can preserve and develop the music of Tuyen Quang in particular and the nation in general," shared Chu Thach, whose words are also the promise of the young generation of Tuyen Quang on the eve of the new year.
Spring 2026 is knocking at the door with so much hope. With a solid foundation built on the successes of the past year, along with unity within our "common home" and a burning desire to contribute, we believe that the artists and writers of Tuyen Quang will continue to reap abundant harvests, so that the cultural flow of Tuyen Quang will forever continue to harmonize with the nation.
