During the mission, the team searching for and collecting the remains of fallen soldiers discovered the remains of a fallen soldier along with some artifacts including an iron bowl and a belt. The unit organized the excavation and brought the remains to the waiting area of the team searching for and collecting the remains of fallen soldiers under the Provincial Military Command for care and to carry out the necessary procedures according to regulations.
Hill 685 is an area where many fierce battles took place during the Northern Border Defense War. Through surveys, tracing the traces of battles, and information provided by veterans, it has been found that many martyrs still perished in this area.
Since the launch of the "500-Day Campaign to Intensify the Search, Collection, and Identification of Martyrs' Remains," the Provincial Military Command has searched for and collected 11 sets of martyrs' remains and 2 mass graves; coordinated the organization of memorial services and burials for 5 martyrs' remains and 1 mass grave with solemn rituals, demonstrating the principle of "Drinking water, remembering the source" and profound gratitude to the heroic martyrs who sacrificed for the independence and sovereignty of the Fatherland.
