Clear direction
According to the Department of Education and Training, the entrance exams for specialized high schools and public high schools, as well as ethnic boarding high schools in the province, will take place simultaneously on June 2nd and 3rd. Public high schools with a number of applicants exceeding the enrollment quota by one class (45 students) or more will apply the entrance exam method. Conversely, when the number of applicants does not exceed the enrollment quota by one class (45 students), the selection method will be applied. For ethnic boarding high schools, students will go through a preliminary selection round to determine eligibility for the entrance exam; students who meet the requirements of the preliminary selection round will be allowed to participate in the entrance exam.

Pham Tan Dung, a 9th-grade student from Nguyen Trai Secondary School in Rach Gia Ward, plans to study veterinary services at a vocational college or in economics and law at Kien Giang College. Dung shared: “With limited family finances and relatively good academic performance, I chose to study at a vocational college to reduce costs and academic pressure. Studying at a vocational college allows me to learn both general education and vocational skills simultaneously, shortening my study time so I can graduate sooner, find employment, and support myself and my family.”
Despite their young age, many fifth-grade students are steadfast in their choices. Lam Thai Sang, a student in class 5/3 at Dinh Bo Linh Primary School in Rach Gia Ward, and Ha Le Kha Ngan, a student in class 5/2 at Nguyen Ba Ngoc Primary School in Rach Gia Ward, both decided to apply to Le Quy Don Secondary School in Rach Gia Ward. According to Thai Sang and Kha Ngan, Le Quy Don Secondary School offers a dynamic learning environment, providing excellent opportunities for them to develop their abilities and build a solid foundation for their future high school education.
Efforts to achieve the goal
At this time, Pham Khanh Duy is focusing on reviewing mathematics, prioritizing solving practice problems to hone his thinking skills and master test-taking techniques. "Besides focusing on math, I'm dedicating the last month to reviewing literature and English because all subjects affect the overall result," Khanh Duy said.
With excellent academic performance from grades 6 to 8, Le Nguyen Ngoc Han, a student in class 9/4 at Hung Vuong Secondary School in Rach Gia Ward, decided to apply to Nguyen Trung Truc 1 High School in Rach Gia Ward because she felt it was a suitable school for her. The school's proximity to her home was also a factor in Ngoc Han's decision. Ngoc Han is always proactive, serious, and diligent in her studies. In addition to her classes, Ngoc Han actively studies at home, reviewing knowledge with the mindset of ensuring she understands each topic thoroughly, and practicing solving problems to expand her knowledge, retain information, and hone her test-taking skills.

Every day, Ha Le Kha Ngan creates a schedule, dedicating each evening to reviewing what she learned in class and doing advanced exercises in various subjects, regularly accumulating knowledge. Like Kha Ngan, Thai Sang diligently studies and practices, working hard to achieve his goal of being admitted to his dream school. “In class, I pay attention to the teacher’s lectures. At home, I review the lessons and use appropriate study methods for each subject to achieve the best results,” Thai Sang shared.
Anxiety and pressure are common feelings among students before this important turning point in their lives. According to them, regardless of the admission method, students must study seriously, diligently, and use scientific study methods to achieve their desired results. With clear guidance and the support of family and school, they gradually overcome their anxieties and enter the upcoming admission period with a firm and confident mindset.
