With the aim of preserving revolutionary traditions, over the years, the Party Committee and Board of Directors of the Cu Chi Tunnels Historical Site have always prioritized the preservation of exhibits and the construction and repair of historical structures to serve visitors. In 2025, the site completed new investment projects, creating a breakthrough in the historical tourism model, including: officially operating a cinema room on a unique C-130 transport aircraft model; continuing to upgrade and renovate the 3D cinema room combined with a modern diorama; inaugurating the "Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space"; and putting into use a model of Truong Sa Island next to a lake simulating the East Sea...
Colonel Le Van Dung, Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the Cu Chi Tunnels Historical Site, said: “To spread the propaganda significance, the unit has coordinated the organization of scientific seminars on compiling a book of historical accounts of the Cu Chi Tunnels Historical Site; collaborated with the National Museum of History to survey and catalog artifacts at the site to develop a plan for scientific, rational, and aesthetically pleasing arrangement and display. The Party Committee and the Board of Directors of the historical site directed specialized agencies to meet and interview 31 historical witnesses, including residents of Cu Chi and those who directly lived, fought, and dug the tunnels during the two resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism; and simultaneously surveyed and collected nearly 40 books, maps, documents, DVDs about the tunnels... along with many other documents to enhance the effectiveness of propaganda and revolutionary tradition education for today's generation.”
In addition, the historical site has collected and supplemented many artifacts and historical documents from the two resistance wars to serve tourists, especially schools, groups, and associations organizing "back to the roots" programs for visiting, learning, and fostering revolutionary ideals.
Recently, visitors to the Cu Chi Tunnels have also been able to experience activities such as milling rice, pounding rice, planting rice, catching fish, and watching the "Moon of the War Zone" program, which realistically recreates the daily life, labor, and combat support of the people of Cu Chi during the war. This approach is considered one of the attractive and authentic forms of propaganda and education about traditions through practical experience. Ms. Trinh Thi Hien Tran, Deputy Secretary of the City Youth Union and President of the Ho Chi Minh City Children's Council, shared: "Youth organizations at all levels in the city regularly coordinate to organize programs for admitting new Party members and Youth Union members at the Cu Chi Tunnels historical site to make the ceremony more solemn and meaningful; at the same time, to educate revolutionary traditions for Party members and Youth Union members; thereby arousing the determination to strive and contribute so that cadres and Youth Union members can continuously progress and mature."
