On June 16, 2025, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly issued Resolution No. 1673 establishing Bat Xat commune by merging the existing natural area and population of four communes: Quang Kim, Phin Ngan, Ban Qua, Ban Vuoc, and Bat Xat town. After the merger, Bat Xat commune has a natural area of 189.98 km² and a population of 26,838 people.
With its potential and advantages in landscape, climate, and ethnic cultural identity, the newly established Bat Xat commune will have ample room to develop community tourism, contributing alongside other economic sectors to create a comprehensive and diverse overall development picture, gradually leading the locality to rapid and sustainable development, becoming a center for international economic trade, in line with the goals set by the First Party Congress of the commune for the 2025-2030 term.
