Since ancient times, Van Lam has been famous for its embroidery craft, passed down by Mrs. Tran Thi Dung (wife of Grand Tutor Tran Thu Do). Before Trang An was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the villagers mainly lived by rice farming and embroidery. When tourism arrived in this peaceful countryside, the people began to shift to service industries because they offered higher incomes. Photo: Dinh Minh
