Schools organize field trips to historical sites in the province.

For over a month, many historical sites in the province have welcomed student groups for visits, learning, and exploration, such as: the O Ta Soc Revolutionary Historical Site, the Ba Chuc Mausoleum, and Tuc Dup Hill (Tri Ton District); Ba Bai Pagoda (Chau Doc City), the Steel Cable Pole (Cho Moi District), the Tran Van Thanh Memorial Temple (Chau Phu District), and Giong Thanh Pagoda (Tan Chau Town)... These activities outside the classroom have provided children with many interesting experiences. Following the tradition of "Drinking water, remembering the source," teachers and students lit incense and observed a moment of silence in remembrance of the heroic martyrs, expressing their deep gratitude for their courageous sacrifices in preserving the independence and freedom of the country.

In keeping with the nationwide celebrations of national holidays, over 70 teachers, staff, and students from Da Phuoc "A" Primary School (An Phu District) embarked on a field trip to Tri Ton District to learn about the history of the nation. The trip provided students with valuable knowledge about national history, instilled patriotic traditions , and helped them develop essential life skills. They visited the Ba Chuc Mausoleum and the O Ta Soc Revolutionary Relic Site, tracing the course of history to learn more about the heroic history of the nation and the years of resistance against foreign invaders. At Tuc Dup Hill, the group sang the national anthem, visited the traditional exhibition room, the C6 cave, the Military Medical cave, and the Youth cave. Teachers, staff, and students also viewed documentary images and listened to explanations about the Southwest border war at the Ba Chuc Mausoleum, and participated in the incense offering and commemoration ceremony.

This is also a destination for Phu Tan Secondary and High Schools to organize trips for Youth Union officials, Team leaders, and students with outstanding achievements in academics and extracurricular activities. Ngo Gia Quynh, a student in class 7A1, said: “This is my first time participating in a field trip to the historical sites, and I am very excited because I learned more about the history of the province and was moved by the sacrifices of the heroic martyrs who maintained peace and brought harmony to the country. Besides textbooks teaching about the country's history, learning through this field trip helps me understand more about the local history and the history of my hometown.”

Ms. Nguyen Thuy Y, a Literature teacher at Phu Tan Secondary and High School, shared: “The 2018 general education program is a comprehensive education program for students. Therefore, field trips to historical sites are regularly organized annually by the Youth Union and the Young Pioneers to help students connect with each other, learn teamwork and mutual support, and review learned knowledge. Especially, this year's historical events are milestone years, so organizing field trips to historical sites allows students to immerse themselves in the nationwide atmosphere, experience historical sites, understand how to live and contribute, and set future learning goals. In schools, local history is integrated into many subjects: History, Literature, Civic Education... Teachers show students the traditions of their ancestors and the glorious history of the nation. Not only does the school organize these trips, but each subject also creates opportunities for students to experience traditional craft villages in the locality, helping them understand their homeland.” "How beautiful it is…".

The province boasts numerous historical and cultural relics associated with festivals, customs, and traditions that reflect the rich local culture. Schools have incorporated local history education into their curricula to equip students with valuable knowledge about the history of their homeland and country. Teachers emphasize integrating this into various subjects and extracurricular activities, using real-life illustrations in their lessons to help students grasp local history more clearly and deeply. Schools also pay special attention to traditional and heritage education through diverse, creative, and effective methods. Students learn through competitions, performances, seminars, presentations, dramatizations, and visits to historical sites during major national and Party/Youth Union holidays and anniversaries.
