Students are reading books at the Provincial Library.
Books are not only an endless storehouse of knowledge but also an inexhaustible treasure. Only through the pages of books can future generations understand what previous generations have done, inherit and continue to develop it, making human life more civilized and modern. Voltaire, a great French philosopher, once said: “What books teach us is like fire. We take it from our neighbor’s house, light it in our own house, pass it on to others, and it becomes the common property of all.”

The mobile library vehicles inspire a reading culture among students in schools throughout the province.
However, with the continuous development of digital technology and social media platforms, entertainment channels that constantly update with new, modern, multi-faceted, and colorful information are becoming a highlight attracting many young people. The concept of "bedside books" is becoming increasingly unfamiliar to many. In fact, every year, we have the opportunity to accompany the province's mobile library vehicles to primary and secondary schools. When asked, most children said that they rarely receive books as gifts from their parents or relatives, and are taken to bookstores to buy literature, science , or life skills books. Therefore, when the mobile library vehicle arrives, many children excitedly run to find books and eagerly read, even if the time is only a short morning.
Nguyen Tran Hoai Thuong, a student in class 6A at Phuoc Hoi 1 Secondary School (La Gi), said: "Through the books suggested by my homeroom teacher, I have learned valuable lessons for myself, such as helping and sharing with others, admitting my mistakes, and listening to my parents and teachers."

Watching his students engrossed in books and excitedly participating in quizzes about historical figures and book titles organized by the Provincial Library at the school, Mr. Nguyen Minh Bao Phuc – Principal of Phuoc Hoi 1 Secondary School – hopes that the intellectual space provided by the mobile library will bring students not only good books but also inspiration, change their perspectives, encourage them to engage with books more, and contribute to spreading a reading culture in schools and families.

In response to the 4th Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in 2025, launched nationwide by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism from April 15th to May 2nd, several agencies, localities, and many schools in the province are organizing activities such as reading with children, book exhibitions, quizzes, and storytelling based on books, and promoting reading in schools and communities. This is truly a grand festival for book lovers and those who disseminate and spread books and reading culture. This day also serves as a message and a reminder of the enduring value of reading – a silent but powerful journey and a responsibility of each individual, unit, and social organization in preserving, promoting, and spreading reading, making it a need and a beautiful cultural aspect.

Develop a reading habit while still in school.
Books and reading culture have been intertwined with human history for thousands of years. Books remain the most precious source of intellectual nourishment, unmatched by any other form of spiritual sustenance. Along with accelerating the digital transformation of libraries and improving the quality of library services in schools, changing habits and spreading a love of reading is a task for everyone and should begin today.
