For the advancement of women

The Chairperson of the Provincial Women's Union presented awards to outstanding individuals in the patriotic emulation movement during the 2020-2025 period.

According to the report of the Provincial Women's Union - the standing agency of the Provincial Committee for the Advancement of Women, the various levels of the Union have proactively and collaboratively organized many activities to support women in various fields, contributing to the achievement of gender equality goals. Particularly in the political field, the Union has focused on training and enhancing the capacity of female cadres participating in leadership and management positions in the political system, especially newly elected or appointed female cadres, female candidates for the National Assembly, female representatives of People's Councils at all levels, and female cadres from ethnic minorities. From 2021 to the present, the province has seen over 3,400 instances of newly appointed female cadres, women participating in elected representatives for the first time, and young female cadres receiving training to improve their knowledge and skills; and over 4,000 instances of female cadres receiving training to enhance their leadership, management, and gender mainstreaming skills. During the 2021-2026 term, women's associations at all levels coordinated the organization of over 30 training courses, seminars, and workshops to share experiences and enhance election campaigning capacity for nearly 10,000 female candidates, practically contributing to increasing the percentage of female National Assembly deputies and female People's Council representatives at all levels.

In addition, the women's associations at all levels have advised and coordinated the introduction of more than 5,700 outstanding women for the Party to consider for membership, of which 4,662 outstanding women have been admitted to the Party, contributing to increasing the source of female cadres for Party committees and government at all levels.

In the economic and labor sectors, women's associations at all levels have organized nearly 1,500 training courses to enhance the capacity of members, women, and owners of collective economic models managed by women in developing projects and startup ideas, applying information technology in production, business, product consumption, and trading on e-commerce platforms; coordinating the transfer of science and technology to more than 200,000 women, providing vocational training to 28,000 women, and introducing jobs to 22,725 female workers; implementing the "Support for Women's Entrepreneurship Project giai đoạn 2017-2025", from 2021 to the present, has supported more than 2,500 women in starting businesses and entrepreneurship, including the establishment of 565 new businesses owned by women; and mobilizing resources to support the establishment of 24 new cooperatives. Economic support activities for women have helped many women find jobs, increase their income, and expand their production and businesses. Through this, many women have affirmed their roles and positions in the family and society.

In the fields of healthcare, education and training, information and communication, etc., more and more women are gaining access to information, the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws and regulations on gender equality and the advancement of women, while also enjoying their legitimate rights and benefits.

To contribute to the implementation of the National Strategy on Gender Equality, the Provincial Women's Union has coordinated and mobilized additional resources to support the resolution of issues of vital importance to women; enhanced the capacity of union officials at all levels and ensured the effectiveness of union work, contributing to the achievement of gender equality targets. From 2021-2025, the Provincial Women's Union mobilized resources from projects, programs, and initiatives to support its members in many aspects of life, such as clean water, environmental sanitation, raising awareness, and supporting livelihood models. These included the ChoBa Project, the "Improving the Lives of Female Workers - My Strong Initiative" Project, and the "Supporting Women's Entrepreneurship in the 2017-2025 Period" Project. In particular, implementing Project 8 "Implementing Gender Equality and Addressing Urgent Issues for Women and Children" in the 2021-2025 period under the National Target Program for Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas, the provincial-level Women's Union established and maintained nearly 300 community communication groups (exceeding the target), and supported 15 livelihood models for cooperatives and women-owned cooperatives applying Industry 4.0 technology. Established 46 "Trusted Addresses" (exceeding the target); organized 130 policy dialogues at the commune and village cluster levels; established 64 "Leaders of Change" clubs (exceeding the target)...

In addition, the Provincial Women's Union also participated in high-level delegation exchanges of the Central Women's Union and the Provincial Party Committee to visit Laos; signed a memorandum of understanding between the Provincial Women's Union and the Hua Phan Provincial Women's Union for the period 2024-2026; and coordinated with the Vietnam Women's Union in the Federal Republic of Germany to present 80 gifts to disadvantaged members... These foreign relations activities have contributed to enhancing the role and position of Thanh Hoa women in the field of diplomacy, promoting the image of Vietnam and its people in general, and Thanh Hoa in particular.

With the results achieved, the goals of implementing the National Strategy on Gender Equality for the period 2021-2030 and the work of women's empowerment in the province are not only limited to narrowing the gender gap, eliminating gender stereotypes, and fulfilling the targets of the six target groups as outlined, but the core, sustainable value is to promote the role of women in all areas of social and family life, and to eliminate deviant notions in society. This is the most important factor in changing the state of gender inequality and promoting the development of women.
