Previously, on the evening of May 22nd, during the rescue of a mother turtle laying eggs, staff from the Con Dao National Park Management Board discovered a tag with the code Ph6854 on the left forelimb of one of the mother turtles. This is a code used for managing and tracking sea turtles in the Philippines. The Philippine mother turtle was a green sea turtle (also known as hawksbill turtle) measuring 93cm x 84cm, and had laid 84 eggs. After successfully assisting the turtle in giving birth, the Con Dao National Park Management Board added a Vietnamese tag with the code CD 4699 to continue monitoring the turtle's movements.

It is known that the distance from the Philippine sea to Con Dao is more than 1,700km. Previously, on the night of April 22, 2024, Bai Cat Lon - Hon Bay Canh also welcomed a mother turtle with a tracking tag from Malaysia to nest and lay 100 eggs.
