[Video] General Secretary To Lam: Science and Technology sector continues to pioneer in helping the country make breakthroughs

On the afternoon of September 29, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Science and Technology solemnly organized the 80th anniversary of the Post and Telecommunications sector, the 66th anniversary of the Science and Technology sector and the 1st Patriotic Emulation Congress. General Secretary To Lam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and other leaders and former leaders of the Party and State attended the ceremony.

The General Secretary emphasized that after nearly 40 years of renovation, our country has made remarkable progress, from a poor, embargoed country to the 4th largest economy in Southeast Asia, 32nd in the world, deeply integrated into the global value chain. In that common achievement, the Post and Telecommunications, Science and Technology sectors have made very important contributions.

On this occasion, General Secretary To Lam presented the Ministry of Science and Technology with 10 words: "Autonomy - Intelligence - Technology - Breakthrough - Integration".

Within the framework of the Celebration Ceremony, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, General Secretary To Lam presented the Ministry of Science and Technology with the First Class Labor Medal; and presented the Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Manh Hung with the First Class Fatherland Protection Medal.
