On the afternoon of April 2nd, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs ' regular press conference, Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang answered reporters' questions about Vietnam's stance on Cuba's dialogue with the US and the current situation in Cuba.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Pham Thu Hang said that Vietnam is closely monitoring the situation and believes that Cuba will overcome its current difficulties and challenges.
"Vietnam affirms its traditional solidarity and friendship with the fraternal Cuban people and consistently supports the resolutions of the United Nations General Assembly calling for the lifting of the unilateral blockade and embargo against Cuba," Ms. Pham Thu Hang affirmed.
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized: Vietnam welcomes and supports Cuba and the United States conducting dialogue to find solutions to differences in bilateral relations, based on respect for independence, sovereignty , territorial integrity and the fundamental principles of international law.
"Vietnam hopes that both sides will soon reach a common understanding to improve and normalize relations for the benefit of the people of both countries, and for peace, cooperation, stability, and development in the region and the world," said Ms. Pham Thu Hang.
Earlier, on March 13, Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel announced that officials from his country and the United States had discussed resolving differences through dialogue. He said the exchanges, "driven by international factors," also sought to find areas of cooperation to ensure security and peace for both countries and the region.
On March 25, the Cuban president announced that former leader Raul Castro is participating in negotiations with the United States, and that these discussions are in their initial stages.
