The Global Dairy Congress 2024, held in London, UK from June 25-27, brought together over 200 representatives from countries around the world to discuss the role and contribution of the dairy industry to the sustainable development of life, people, and the planet. This year, the theme chosen for discussion was "Healthy People - Healthy Planet," emphasizing the challenges and opportunities for the dairy industry in all aspects and addressing strategic innovations aimed at the sustainable development of the industry.
The Global Dairy Conference is held annually, bringing together nearly 200 dairy businesses and organizations to discuss common issues facing the entire industry.
Vinamilk appeared at the conference with a completely new brand identity, telling the story of the powerful innovations of a billion-dollar brand representing the Vietnamese spirit, ready to integrate with global trends. This demonstrates the grand vision and dynamism of Vietnam's leading dairy company with the aspiration to assert its position in the world.
Sharing his thoughts on this year's theme and presentations, Richard Hall, Chairman of the Global Dairy Conference, said: "From this year's presentations, we can see that the product is paramount. Businesses need to create high-quality and innovative products, demonstrating the nutritional benefits of milk for human health. Alongside this is the awareness and action needed to promote sustainable development for the planet. A prime example is Vinamilk's presentation on their strategies, with their Green Farms and Green Farm products. This is a prime example of the value that nature can bring to our products, thanks to their efforts to reduce emissions from farms, from products, and many other aspects of the value chain."

For example, Vinamilk shared its strategies, including carbon-neutral farms, moving towards Net Zero, and Green Farm dairy products. "This is a prime example of the value that nature can bring to our products, thanks to their efforts to reduce emissions from farms, from products, and many other aspects of the value chain ," commented Richard Hall.
Sustainable development - the future of the dairy industry
This year, Vinamilk contributed a presentation with the message "Care to change" to the Branding for Future discussion at the conference. Mr. Nguyen Quang Tri, Marketing Director of Vinamilk, shared about strategic innovations based on four directions: Future Generation, Better Nutrition, Customer Experience, and Sustainable Future. According to the Vietnamese representative, these are the aspects that will create momentum for the strong development of Vinamilk and the dairy industry in general within the global context.
"We changed for you – that's the strong affirmation from Vinamilk and also our commitment to the community when launching our new brand identity. Changing a brand that has been established for nearly half a century was a challenging decision for us. And the reality has shown that the change has been received beyond expectations," – this statement from a Vinamilk representative at the Global Dairy Conference made a strong impression.
Mr. Nguyen Quang Tri, Marketing Executive Director of Vinamilk, presented a paper on Vinamilk's innovation and sustainable development strategy, with the message "Focus on Change".
In terms of providing even more innovative and groundbreaking nutritional solutions, Mr. Tri cited the example of Vinamilk's Green Farm fresh milk product line. This product utilizes Vinamilk's dual vacuum packaging technology, preserving the natural aroma, subtle hints of herbs and flowers, and a sweet aftertaste. Green Farm is a continuation of Vinamilk's journey in building a "new world," initiating a series of innovation campaigns across other product lines that followed.
Regarding the strategy to upgrade the customer experience, Mr. Tri said: "The application of technology that allows for flexible transitions between online and offline will ensure that Vinamilk's customer experience is consistent regardless of location. Our goal is to ensure that existing consumers are best engaged and that new consumers are excited to step into Vinamilk's new world."

As one of the top 5 most sustainable dairy brands globally, sustainable development is mentioned as one of the main goals in Vinamilk's strategy. In 2023, to mark a significant milestone, Vinamilk officially announced its Net Zero roadmap to 2050. Less than a year after announcing this roadmap, Vinamilk now has 3 units, including 1 farm and 2 factories, certified carbon neutral according to PAS2060:2014 standards. Vinamilk is also one of the first companies in Vietnam to register and support the global dairy industry initiative on Net Zero - Pathways to Dairy Net Zero . This result received much attention at the conference.
Timothy Robinson presented on the topic of Net Zero in the dairy industry, emphasizing the leading role of countries and large enterprises.
Many participants at the conference were interested in information about Vinamilk's Net Zero project in Vietnam.
Sustainable development is a major issue for the dairy industry, and that's why this year's conference focused on this topic. Through Vinamilk's presentations, we highly appreciate the results they have achieved, as a prime example of the Vietnamese dairy industry's pursuit of Net Zero. In the future, I expect more collaboration and cooperation between Vietnam and the Global Dairy Initiative on Net Zero (Pathways to Dairy Net Zero), as well as deeper participation in the Dairy Sustainable Development Framework, to provide more support for Vinamilk's programs and Vietnam's efforts," shared Dr. Timothy Robinson, independent advisor to the Dairy Sustainable Development Framework (DSF).
The world is constantly changing, and new generations of consumers are reshaping the future of the dairy industry. The global dairy industry, and Vietnam in particular, is simultaneously facing challenges in sustainable development. In this context, the positive contributions of Vietnamese businesses have helped affirm the role of the dairy industry in the health, environment, and sustainability of future generations.
