According to Variety , Marcia Lucas, the Oscar-winning film editor who edited the Star Wars films directed by her ex-husband George Lucas, has passed away in Rancho Mirage, California.
Marcia Lucas passed away at the age of 80. Her family's lawyer confirmed that she died of cancer.

Born Marcia Lou Griffin in Modesto, she grew up in North Hollywood and began her career as a film archivist before joining the Film Editors Association's apprenticeship program.
She met George Lucas when they both worked with the legendary editor Verna Fields. They married in 1969, and Marcia served as assistant editor for George Lucas's feature film debut, THX 1138.
They divorced in 1983. Her second marriage, which ended in 1993, was to Tom Rodrigues, who had previously worked as a production manager at Skywalker Ranch.
She leaves behind two daughters, Amanda Lucas and Amy Soper; grandchildren Felix Hallikainen, Aeliana Hallikainen, and Knox Soper; and close relatives whom she considered family, Sarah Dyer and Jon Taylor.
