Honoring the world cultural figure Le Huu Trac

On the evening of December 27th, at Thanh Sen Square (Ha Tinh City), Ha Tinh province, in coordination with the Ministry of Health , the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Hung Yen province, and the Vietnam National UNESCO Committee, organized a ceremony to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the birth and honor the cultural figure and renowned physician Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac (1724 – 2024).

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man presented flowers to congratulate Ha Tinh province on receiving the UNESCO Resolution honoring Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac as a world cultural figure.

Attending the ceremony were National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man; Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia; Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Political Academy and Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council Nguyen Xuan Thang; along with representatives from central departments, ministries, and agencies, and leaders of Hung Yen and Ha Tinh provinces.

Delivering a speech at the commemoration ceremony, Mr. Hoang Trung Dung, Secretary of the Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee, reviewed the life and career of the great physician Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac, affirming that with his profound intellect and deep love for humanity, he dedicated his entire life to researching, studying, and summarizing experiences, elevating the theoretical level of medical ethics, medical theory, medical techniques, and pharmacology.

In particular, the book "Hai Thuong Y Tong Tam Linh" is considered an "encyclopedia," possessing universal value for humanity, clearly demonstrating immense cultural, educational, and anthropological values, and summarizing ethical standards; it is a vow, a motto, and a guiding principle for the noble mission of a physician. He affirmed: "The practice of medicine is a noble discipline"; "There is no profession more humane than medicine, saving lives"; "There is no profession more inhumane than medicine lacking ethics."

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism awarded the certificate recognizing the tomb and memorial area of ​​Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac as a special national historical site to the leaders of Huong Son District.

At the commemoration ceremony, the Vietnam National UNESCO Committee presented the Resolution of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) honoring the great physician Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac as a world cultural figure to the leaders of Ha Tinh province.

On this occasion, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism also presented a certificate recognizing the tomb and memorial area of ​​Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac (in Son Trung commune, Huong Son district, Ha Tinh province) as a special national historical site to the leaders of Huong Son district.
