On November 14th, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly issued a Resolution on the reorganization of commune-level administrative units in Vinh Phuc province for the period 2023-2025.
Vinh Phuc province will merge and reorganize 28 commune-level administrative units into 13 new commune-level administrative units. Specifically, from January 1, 2025, the commune-level administrative units of Vinh Phuc province will be arranged as follows:
Phuc Yen City
The Hai Bà Trưng ward was established by merging the entire natural area of 0.90 km2 and population of 12,264 people of Trưng Trắc ward with the entire natural area of 1.80 km2 and population of 8,892 people of Trưng Nhị ward. After the merger, the Hai Bà Trưng ward has a natural area of 2.70 km2 and a population of 21,156 people.
After the reorganization, Phuc Yen city has 9 administrative units at the commune level, including 7 wards and 2 communes.
Vinh Tuong District
The commune of Sao Dai Viet was established by merging the entire natural area of 2.80 km2 and a population of 5,054 people from Viet Xuan commune; the entire natural area of 2.60 km2 and a population of 4,054 people from Bo Sao commune; and the entire natural area of 5.90 km2 and a population of 6,300 people from Cao Dai commune. After its establishment, Sao Dai Viet commune has a natural area of 11.30 km2 and a population of 15,408 people.
The entire natural area of 3.00 km2 and population of 7,932 people of Tan Tien commune were merged into Dai Dong commune. After the merger, Dai Dong commune has a natural area of 8.20 km2 and a population of 19,826 people.
As of January 1, 2025, Vinh Phuc province will have 88 communes, 15 wards, and 18 towns.
An Nhan commune was established by merging the entire natural area of 2.90 km2 and population of 6,272 people of Ly Nhan commune with the entire natural area of 5.40 km2 and population of 10,820 people of An Tuong commune. After its establishment, An Nhan commune has a natural area of 8.30 km2 and a population of 17,092 people.
The commune of Luong Dien was established by merging the entire natural area of 3.30 km2 and a population of 6,652 people from Van Xuan commune with the entire natural area of 7.60 km2 and a population of 15,783 people from Binh Duong commune. After the merger, Luong Dien commune has a natural area of 10.90 km2 and a population of 22,435 people.
The commune of Vĩnh Phú was established by merging the entire natural area of 4.70 km2 and population of 5,352 people of Vĩnh Ninh commune with the entire natural area of 6.40 km2 and population of 6,431 people of Phú Đa commune. After the merger, Vĩnh Phú commune has a natural area of 11.10 km2 and a population of 11,783 people.
The entire natural area of 3.30 km2 and population of 6,455 people of Vinh Son commune were merged into Tho Tang town. After the merger, Tho Tang town has a natural area of 8.60 km2 and a population of 24,989 people.
The entire natural area of 3.20 km2 and a population of 4,509 people of Tam Phuc commune will be merged into Vinh Tuong town. After the merger, Vinh Tuong town will have a natural area of 6.50 km2 and a population of 12,289 people.
After the reorganization, Vinh Tuong district has 20 commune-level administrative units, including 17 communes and 3 towns.
Song Lo District
The entire natural area of 3.70 km2 and population of 4,203 people of Nhao Son commune, and the entire natural area of 5 km2 and population of 4,920 people of Nhu Thuy commune, are merged into Tam Son town. After the merger, Tam Son town has a natural area of 12.40 km2 and a population of 13,613 people.
The entire natural area of 6.30 km2 and a population of 3,519 people of Bach Luu commune were merged into Hai Luu commune. After the merger, Hai Luu commune has a natural area of 16.50 km2 and a population of 11,303 people.
After the reorganization, Song Lo district has 14 commune-level administrative units, including 13 communes and 1 town.
Yen Lac District
The entire natural area of 3.20 km2 and population of 4,707 people of Hong Phuong commune were merged into Hong Chau commune. After the merger, Hong Chau commune has a natural area of 8.40 km2 and a population of 13,630 people.
After the reorganization, Yen Lac district has 16 commune-level administrative units, including 14 communes and 2 towns.
Lap Thach District
The commune of Tay Son was established by merging the entire natural area of 4.40 km2 and a population of 5,223 people from Dinh Chu commune with the entire natural area of 5.70 km2 and a population of 9,534 people from Trieu De commune. After its establishment, Tay Son commune has a natural area of 10.10 km2 and a population of 14,757 people.
After the reorganization, Lap Thach district has 19 commune-level administrative units, including 17 communes and 2 towns.
Tam Duong District
The commune of Hội Thịnh was established by merging the entire natural area of 4.00 km2 and population of 6,914 people of Vân Hội commune with the entire natural area of 4.40 km2 and population of 8,566 people of Hợp Thịnh commune. After the merger, Hội Thịnh commune has a natural area of 8.40 km2 and a population of 15,480 people.
After the reorganization, Tam Duong district has 12 commune-level administrative units, including 10 communes and 2 towns.
Thus, after reorganizing the commune-level administrative units, Vinh Phuc province has 9 district-level administrative units, including 7 districts and 2 cities; and 121 commune-level administrative units, including 88 communes, 15 wards, and 18 towns.
