'Make in Vietnam' weapons affirm the intelligence and spirit of self-reliance of our army

The presence of weapons and equipment products researched and produced by Vietnam at the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 contributes to affirming the increasing intelligence, capacity, and proactiveness in grasping trends of the Vietnamese defense industry as well as the spirit of self-reliance and self-reliance of our army.

At the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024, Vietnam displayed many weapons and equipment directly designed and tested by Vietnamese defense factories and "Make in Vietnam" products, attracting the attention of professional visitors and people.

A series of weapons and equipment researched and developed by the Military Industry - Telecommunications Group (Viettel) such as short-range warning radar, tactical 3D air defense radar, medium-range air defense radar; reconnaissance and jamming complex against tactical unmanned aerial vehicles; Truong Son surface-to-sea missile complex including launcher, Song Hong cruise missile, target detection and indication radar mounted on an off-road vehicle chassis are displayed at the Exhibition.

In particular, among the modern military weapons in the country is the XCB-01 infantry fighting vehicle model researched, developed and manufactured by the General Department of Defense Industry of Vietnam, which is displayed in the outdoor area. People have the opportunity to experience driving a tank right on the XCB-01.

Not only that, a series of products serving modern combat operations such as reconnaissance, combat, suicide, and multi-heavy unmanned aerial vehicles (UVA) integrated with advanced technology, tactical-level reconnaissance and anti-UAV jamming complexes, active electronic beam-forming fire control radars, thermal imaging reconnaissance equipment, thermal imaging scopes... displayed at Viettel's booth always attract a lot of visitors.

At the exhibition booth of the General Department of Defense Industry - where the results of research, testing, production and equipment for the current Army of factories Z113, Z131, Z175 converge, member companies of the General Department of Defense Industry, companies under the Ministry of Defense took visitors lost in the "forest of weapons and technical equipment".

In addition to familiar products such as bullets, mortars, anti-aircraft guns, artillery, etc., the Defense Industry display booth at this year's Exhibition also features UAVs for transportation, reconnaissance, combat, and firefighting purposes developed by companies under the General Department of Research and Development.

The Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 took place from December 19-23 at Gia Lam Airport (Hanoi) and welcomed more than 260,000 visitors from the public and industry professionals.

Within the framework of the Exhibition, enterprises throughout the army took advantage of the opportunity to exchange and work with foreign companies and enterprises. The Organizing Committee ensured 1,872 bilateral meetings and working sessions for military agencies, units and enterprises to listen to product introductions and discuss areas of interest.

On that basis, a number of potential areas of cooperation have been discussed by the two sides; Vietnam's defense industry has received many orders from foreign partners requesting to supply products such as: infantry guns; submunitions, mortars, artillery shells; economic ships; propellants - explosives used in the defense and civilian sectors; other economic products...

Units of the General Department of Defense Industry and the Military Telecommunications Industry Group signed 16 contracts with a total value of about 286.3 million USD. Of which, the General Department of Defense Industry has 11 contracts worth 278.3 million USD; the Military Telecommunications Industry Group has 5 contracts worth 8 million USD.

In addition, 17 strategic cooperation agreements were signed between Vietnam's defense industry and enterprises of countries with developed defense industries such as the US, India, France, Belgium, etc.

This is the second time Vietnam has organized the International Defense Exhibition and this time, many products, including those in the army weapons industry, military weapons, as well as modern products directly designed, tested and manufactured by Vietnamese defense factories, are displayed at this exhibition.
